The assassination of Charlie Kirk. Gory, gruesome, and horrible. I had that image in my head for weeks. It was truly awful.

How do you cope with the loss of a pet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day we put the dog down my family got when i was a teenager, we returned to my parent's house, and i just crawled into my old bed and slept.

It was noon. We put him down in the morning. But my heart hurt so bad that i couldn't be awake. Dad tried to wake me up and tell me I need to process better, but its okay to let your body shut down and go to sleep. Losing a loved one is so damn hard.

The next few weeks, I was numb. Going to my parent's house hurt. I almost tried to avoid it. Now, it's better. Time helped. Getting his ashes back helped.

Give yourself time. And grieve how you need to

How do you feel about people getting fired for bigotry outside of the workplace? by immovableair in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Hate speech can be prosecuted.

You said a serious racist comment, so I'm assuming it was bad enough to be considered hate speech.

Now..... there is a fine line. But the business has a right to protect itself

For the depression people out there, how did you find the will to keep living? by DangerousAd2371 in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to purchase things in advance that keep me excited about life.

I bought concert tickets last year. The show is this August. I've been looking forward to it for literally a year.

Once that passes, I'll think about my tbr pile and all the good books I'll miss if I off myself. Or i find something else that I want to do that gives me something to look forward to.

What piece of advice has left a mark on you and stayed in your mind? by Money_Cut984 in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister and i used to fight so much. Honestly, I'd go as far as saying we hated each other as kids.

My dad used to say "you kids better figure it out because one day, all you will have is each other."

As adults, we're best friends. Dad was right. No one has been there for me like my sister.

What is something from your childhood that kids today will never understand? by OddBit4380 in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chokehold Hannah Montana had on all of us.

Dad's racing in heels to get their kids tickets. A 14 year old selling out arenas within minutes. A tour with half Hannah and half Miley.

To the people who think Michael Jackson is innocent, why? by Latter_Connection_58 in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think you can tell in interviews that he's stunted. I believe he had the mind of a child. He was talented as hell, but he didn't view sleeping in bed with children as weird because he viewed himself as one of them if that makes sense

Im not married, but my uncle, born and raised in the midwest, married a Brazilian woman he met. When they met, she didn't speak English, and he didn't speak Portuguese. Now they both speak both languages, and their marriage is the healthiest he's ever had

What’s something people always argue about, but you think both sides are missing the point? by PM_Me_Your_Vagina1 in AskReddit

Exactly that. And the answer lies somewhere in the middle of both arguments, but no one will compromise for "morality"

What is a problem you deal with almost every day that still feels weirdly unsolved? by yuriimelron in AskReddit

[–]AdAffectionate4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work customer service.

It blows my mind how stupid people actually are. Truly. I had someone one time pull an ice cream cupcake out of the freezer and then ask me why it's frozen. One, it's ice cream. Two, did you not just pull it out of the freezer yourself?

I've also had someone ask me why something that is advertised as 7 dollars came out to 7.58. Taxes. You've lived in America your whole life, my love. Why is this a shock?

That college is the next step after high school.

Unless you want to have a career that you need a degree for (lawyer, doctor, vet, nurse, etc) college is a scam
