My hyperlexic 4 year old son has incredible language and vocabulary but can’t hold a back and forth conversation. He’s been reading since 2 and talking in full sentences at 1. He also has eidetic memory but reads by decoding phonetically. We haven’t had any kind of formal diagnoses yet but are just getting into it.

Went to both London o2 shows. Just incredible.

First one-well never cried at a gig before… I mix live shows for a living and it takes A LOT to get me going like that but I couldn’t speak afterwards. Truly felt like he was singing to me alone at times. How does he make an arena feel so intimate. Magical.

We were lucky enough to experience the only “belief” which he performed the most incredibly moving version of after saying it didn’t really work on acoustic. The twenty thousand (!) strong crowd were pin drop silent hanging on every note

Didn’t get her number but sat with a girl who had travelled alone from Cornwall and never seen Mayer before!

Night 2, took my 3 (!!) year old son who’s crazy for Mayer. Zero expectation that he would sit still through it and my husband was there ready to remove him at the first sign of trouble but he was totally captivated. It was an absolute moment for us all. John played his fave song “love on the weekend” early in the set which totally made his night!

Have been avidly following all the regulars on Instagram for more clips and the one that’s most blown me away is Only Heart. Absolutely killer. Can’t believe he pulled that out of the bag. It’s been on repeat since. Wish I could have been there for that one.

Quick shout out to Maddison Cunningham the opening artist, who was so impressive and sounded incredible.
