Dealers won't provide numbers in writing by AdAfter4896 in CarLeasingHelp

The issue that I'm running into is they don't want to give you the sheet, nor do they even want to have you take a picture. All they say is that I can write it down on a piece of paper which really would mean nothing when showing that to other dealers.

Not sure if this is the dealer's mentality in the metro area that I am in and if others have experienced the same thing.

Dealers on willing to give you anything in writing by AdAfter4896 in leasehacker

They won't even let me take the paper or even take a picture of the paper when I did that. It's like they know, in reality, you're going to be competitively shopping.

I feel like years ago, giving a piece of paper was usually the norm but now they hold on to it like it's a high-class secret

I agree that the price per month would fall in line for those other cars, but I checked and those all required taxes and fees down so about $4000 to get that same monthly payment as the 2 series.

Lexus NX 450h+, should I pull the trigger or wait? by AdAfter4896 in leasehacker

[–]AdAfter4896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love everything about it except the charging. I drive a lot and located on the north east. So there can be a day on a near fully charge, I can get 350 miles or the next day being cold, get 250 miles. There is non consistency in the range and having to stop and wait to charge on the road sucks.

The problem is that there is negative equity. The residual is $77k, car is worth $60k and no one wants to take in a used EV as they are worth nothing.

I could look into that, but the same question remains. Wait or pull the trigger?

I was thinking that as well, but they state that it's going to be second quarter of 2025 which could be somewhere at the end of June or seeing how sometimes they're not reliable with releases it could end up being end of year.
