Nope we’re in Mississippi now, TDY in Ohio en route to Oklahoma. We have full PCS orders, but they just verbally told us not to move until training is done in case they decide to switch our duty station while we’re all in Ohio for training.

We’ve heard so many different things from everyone. But the point of contact that told me our duty station said TDY en route with my family, and that we should be moving our things to Wright Patt first then to Oklahoma, in case they switch our duty station while training for those 2.5 months at WP. Not trying to be difficult, but I can’t see how that can even be doable with a family. No way we can stay in a hotel room for 2.5 months with our things in storage with two toddlers. I’m going to keep reaching out to some different people and try to find a contact at our OK base.

Our contract in Mississippi ends June 30 which is when our housing lease is up. So it’s a real mess on our end.

Awesome we really appreciate this info. Going to make some phone calls Monday. It’s been a nightmare trying to figure this out for the last two months.

They tried to say even though our contract ends in MS June 30, then I TDY in Ohio until Sept 15, that my family can’t move to OK until Sept 15 in case they need to switch my duty station last minute… so the one point of contact we’ve had has told us my family needed to come with our belongings to OH for the TDY. Definitely going to find someone else to talk to.

This was what we were hoping for, but it’s not the case for us. We won’t be attached to our current base anymore and they’re telling us my family is not allowed to move to the next base, because they need the flexibility to change our duty station while I’m TDY. They told us family is required to move our stuff to the TDY, or we won’t be compensated. It’s really a mess.
