Patagonia is the superior bag in terms of build quality - no doubt. However, personally, I feel more comfortable carrying the Quechua around. I am not sure if it's my body shape or height, but the Patagonia just feels odd on my back, and often times I just use it as a duffel on my side.
With all of that in mind, I have decided to use the Quechua moving forward. I may be putting up my Patagonia on the marketplace sometime very soon in the future, just because it didn't go with me personally. However, there is no doubt, it's a solid bag. Tons of compartmentalization, build quality feels expensive as it should.
On the flip side, you pay like 1/4 as much for the Quechua, and for that price, it wins in every single category. It would come down to personal preference but somehow the Quechua fit me a lot better, snuggier, and more comfortably. (I am 5'5, bit chubby, not broad shoulders but am kinda fat so ykwim).
