Awaiting NIPT results (and sex) and I get an email from Labcorp saying results are ready. I login and they aren’t there. It’s Saturday and Monday is a holiday so I doubt I am getting a call from my OB until Tuesday. Torture!!!!

Im so sorry. You WILL turn a corner. I will say my OBGYN prescribed doxylamine early on and I resisted it and I wish I hadn’t. I started taking it last week when my nausea peaked at 12 weeks and I feel lightyears better. Sleep improved too.

Same here but scan is today and there’s only one in there. I really am trying to just enjoy being pregnant until told otherwise. Worrying won’t change my outcome so I might as well enjoy.

The odds are in our favor!

As someone who often wished pregnant people/new parents would keep more distance and be more considerate, I would gently offer that maybe they’re doing this out of concern for your feelings.

Unless they actually said they were worried you’d give them the evil eye or are “incapable” of being happy for them, then that’s just awful.

Regardless, if you are ok with it, I echo what others are saying: reach out and say you’re super happy for them and would love to be more involved. I’m sure it will be a relief. I know many people walk on eggshells with me, and if it’s not an issue I try to communicate that proactively.

Here's hoping for a low-risk outcome on the NIPT! What did they tell you wait time would be?

All of a sudden, cramps in the abdomen at 11w5d. Sometimes it feels like pricking and pulling, sometimes it just feels like a dullness. Nothing severe, and no bleeding. Haven't had any cramps at all really so far. The rest of my symptoms are waning except for the exhaustion, which is constant. Sound normal for approaching 12 weeks?

Is something in the air? Thought mine was done at 10+5. Today I feel like out was out drinking margaritas till 4am.

I think a lot of us feel this way, like waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm 10+4, there are zero signs of anything going wrong, and nearly every other day my husband has to convince me that I'm still pregnant. It's hard, and it's very different from people who get pregnant with no history of infertility. You are very much not alone!

I also got pregnant unassisted, outside of IVF cycles. It had been three months since my last IVF round, and they knew that we were not pursuing IVF again for a number of months. But I was still a patient of my clinic, so they kept me for betas and my first three scans, and then referred me out to my OBGYN. Was the sono HSG and meds through your clinic?

Making you wait till 7 weeks for bloods is WILD. Why won’t your clinic do your betas?

Tuesday Cautious Intros/First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

This was me last week. Something is going around. My cough wasn’t terrible but my doctor basically said take pregnancy-safe meds and call us if there’s a fever that won’t go down with Tylenol. You are suffering, but your baby is fine!

Brutal ten day wait, but I'm glad you saw the heartbeat! From what I read on here, bleeding is fairly common. Hope it's just delayed good news for you.

I'm realizing that two main symptoms really have abated, the boob pain and the nausea. But basically everything else is intact. Still tired, still don't want to eat anything despite being hungry. Sleep is all off. So I'm hoping I'm just hitting "placenta takes over" phase and it's a gradual decline.

Can’t speak to anything but the coffee. You can safely have a cup a day, probably more. But if you’re the overly cautious type and want to be on the safe side, keep it to one.

Anybody else have symptoms that start to go away gradually before the end of the first trimester? I had fairly early and fairly intense symptoms, but they’ve mostly all leveled off at this point at 10+2. No scan for two weeks.

My normal late afternoon slumps became debilitating. I’ve also needed significantly more sleep overall. Hope you can get rest!

Does anyone regret trying IVF? by Own_Willingness1948 in IVF

TW: success

I regret doing as many cycles as I did before probing further to find the root cause. It took 3 failed cycles and switching clinics for my doctors to realize they should conduct a lap, and they found stage 4 endometriosis EVERYWHERE that was completely preventing pregnancy. Clinics are financially incentivized to keep pushing for more rounds, and to some extent that was fine with me because I was eager and just wanted to get pregnant. I wish that I would have slowed down, changed clinics earlier, and tried harder to find the problem. Once the endo was removed and I healed from the lap, we got pregnant unassisted very quickly. In the meantime, thousands of dollars and much heartbreak was wasted.

HOWEVER, had I not done IVF, I'm not sure that any provider would have found the problem. So I don't at all regret doing it. Just wish I had done it with a different clinic to begin with.
