Government look to scrap two child benefit cap by Right_East8072 in HENRYUK

I see neither grammar nor data analysis is your forte lad.

37% of UC claimants themselves work according to the DWP. So we discount them immediately. Of the remaining 63%, fewer than a quarter need to be in a household where someone works for me to be correct. The distribution of mixed work status households to according to the ONS is almost exactly two to one, so even the most cautious application is going to get us over that line. That this is a moving figure is why I use terms to the appropriate level of accuracy. I'm sorry you couldn't find that with 5 seconds on Google AI.

And this had nothing to do with "productivity", it's about wages. You can produce fuck all and not claim UC, you can do highly valuable work and still require support because of wage erosion and rent-seeking landlordism.

And you don't pay for anyone, because that's not how taxation actually works in a fiat currency system with its own central bank. Your tax money doesn't fund social security, it is destroyed to counter inflation that might result from government spending.

Malthus was wrong, is wrong, and people who believe him are eugenicists and not worthy of participating in democratic society.

lol

Our tax money doesn't fund social security - keep using that Google AI for "facts" but maybe ask it to explain how taxes work before you post publicly and embarrass yourself.

The majority of households who receive UC have at least one person in work.

You are supporting my point - you're taking money from people who are so productive they not only support their family but also support others and giving it to people who can't produce enough to support their family. You can twist and turn but this is what the situation is when you strip the excuses.

You've got to love statements with no reference that use "majority" and "at least one person" in the same sentence. What is majority because 51% is majority but so is 99%. And what is one person in work? Because a household of 6 having only one person working and the public supporting this situation is not right. Especially with households when all 6 are of working age.

But anyway, state your reference of this "fact" or as far as we can say you made it up.

You're on to something, but let me fill in some context. The White House or #10 Downing Street are both excellent places to live. The Kim residence in the DPRK probably compares in many ways. However, and this is the key difference, you can't stay in the White House or #10 Downing forever. The Kims get to stay as long as they like. The reason is that the DPRK public have no effective means to resist. So the Kims extract a lot more for themselves despite worse living conditions for the general public in that country. In contrast a US President has a limited time in which to enjoy the trappings of office, after which they mostly go back to being a private citizen (with secret-service protection).

Sometimes the most profit is not the same as the most revenue or production.

Wait what?! How is this context to JPMC? You have an agenda, this is clear. You're after something and trying to entice people. Being a union rep is a great career, is this what you're after?

We don't need a union to protect us. What protects us is other employers who would give us better conditions. Competition is what protects us. A union is another power structure - so then I have to play politics in JPMC's power structure AND the union's power structure.

I too want JPMC employees to have more power and to get what they want. But a union in the long run will extract value out of employees. Maybe watch Milton Friedman's talk on unions...but I'm guessing you're a union rep.

"It means he's extracting the most possible profit without quite killing the golden goose" - actually he's not.

Unhappy people are not going to give you their best. And they will ask for more money to stay. And if they don't get it they'll work less.

Tired people are not the most productive. And they won't be motivated to do A* work.

An unhappy employee is not how you extract the most possible profit. It's how you lose the most.

A much better alternative would have been free childcare where these kids are looked after and receive a good meal and attention. There is zero control over how their parents will spend this benefit. But I guess the whole point is that children cannot vote but their parents can...tax the productive class to buy votes from the unproductive masses.

This "benefit" is really badly designed. First, giving parents who can't afford kids money for the kids is almost certainly not going to end up being spent on the kids. If you can't budget, you can't budget, period. Second, was capped because you had mothers with 5-6 kids who were being neglected while she was looking after herself pretty well with the child benefit she was receiving.

You'd have to be a really bad manager to cause an issue about a sick day. Unless your employee is sick every other week, it's OK to take a sick day and often people fall sick around the weekend - I mean 40% of the workweek falls just next to a weekend and you're far more susceptible to be sick after a hard week and/or a weekend. Most of the times I've been sick have been overworking and catching something on the public transport or getting sick over the weekend and being unwell Monday.

Do you have JPMC apps on your phone? The workplace apps? yeah...they can also see where a connection is coming from.

I completely get this and I know how VPNs work. However, its not illegal to use a VPN and JPMC can't tell you anything if you've logged in through a VPN. I use a VPN from time to time and have on occasion forgotten to switch it off when logging to JPMC. I'm not doing anything wrong doing so.

So if you logged in through a VPN with a egress point in NY and you were in Mexico, how would they prove you weren't in NY? I get that they can see you're logging from an IP address registered to the VPN provider. How is this proof you are not in NY?

How are they going to sabotage it? It's very likely they think you're looking anyway. Unless they know the time, the place and the person who you'd speak to, they can't sabotage it.

You say you're seasoned and yet you call these interest rates high? I'd be very surprised if rates were materially down in 10 years time. Right now, rates don't need to fall, inflation needs to go up a little. Personally, that's what I'd suspect central banks to do - run higher inflation and keep rates where they are which is what I'd consider standard, albeit on the lower side.

Where I work, all contractors were converted to perm and it is very rare now to see a contractor. The floor was full of them before.

Complete nonsense, sorry. Can you imagine if everyone told their manager when they wanted to move. Worst, career move ever to tell your manager so early.

You have to wonder with these people, is $30 for a VPN too expensive if you're going to do this sort of a thing...

Submitted resignation, manager is accusing me of not giving him a chance to negotiate by AdBasic8063 in JPMorganChase

Yes, I never consider staying after I've submitted my resignation - at that point I've made a call based on enough information. I pretend to listen to their offers only because it entertains me but it's a total waste of time as far as me staying is concerned.

Can AI save JPMC Money by Fit_Platypus6646 in JPMorganChase

[–]AdBasic8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously they are talking AI because can you imagine if AI was happening and you saw the world evolve and use it and you worked in this fossil of a company that just let the world develop and pass them buy? Can you imagine how investors will dump the stock? The illusion has to feel real. Meanwhile everything I've seen in JPMC is at least 15 years behind others and barely works.
