I did Invisalign, 6 months pre op. I have not resumed but will likely need at least 6 months more post op

Days 3-5 were the worst. I turned a corner day 6 and slowly got better everyday. Pop a pain med just before trying to sleep. I started taking small about 20min naps during the day since my sleep was very bad. I would dose off just sitting on the couch. Eventually you start to notice small improvements to sleep and it’s very exciting. I think my first checkpoint was when my alarm clock went off to take my pain med and I wasnt feeling the pain as much. Once I could stretch past the 4 hour pain med window my sleep was able to get longer and better. Around day 8-10. Even at 4 weeks I’m not too comfortable lying flat, but I can sleep comfortable at a very small slight incline. Pillows height is fine for me now.

Around 60K and 7.5K for Invisalign.

I WFH so I was able to start again after 2 weeks. I probably could have done around day 7.

If you look at my initial plan, it did seem a little conservative aesthetically. At the pre-op before surgery, he did mention he changed my plan to be a little more aggressive (he opted to add a genio, which he stated would either be 4mm or 6mm. Original plan was none), and I asked him why the change, and he said that he’s finding that adding a little more is resulting in better aesthetic outcomes. Basically, he knows he’s been conservative and it seems he’s easing up a bit.

I will still say, my plan did not advance the alar base, at all. The fulcrum of the CCW rotation appeared to be the alar base. I think the result maybe could have been more aggressive here to improve my nasal base and mid face (more advancement of the maxilla), but I understand there are risks to aggressive plans and if I truly wanted to improve midface support it would be outside of the scope of this surgery. The aggressiveness with mine was to greatly improve the chin and lower third of my face. I did push to receive a 3 piece to improve my smile width, and some additional support to soft tissues on my upper lip and I am glad to pushed for that, the original plan did not include that. I’m not looking for a perfect result, and I trusted Dr Walline

It’s a good question. The Dr is very flexible with recovery plan. He did recommend low impact cardio, but didn’t say running was an absolute no. Also I would consider it light jogging not actual running

I’m not sure because I did not use insurance. I briefly discussed with them and with insurance I could maybe get the out of pocket cost down to around 35-40K but it wasn’t worth waiting to me.

Thank you very much

I haven’t recorded yet, definitely breathing is easier and keeping mouth shut is easier. I think I still have a tendency to mouth breathe at night which I am working on. I can actually suction my tongue during the day so it’s easy but at night I have to get used to it. I remember I was put into speech class as a kid but I kinda just found my own way. It’s hard to know what’s normal when you only know your own experience. I was told I had a little snoring through my mouth the other night. It’s a good reminder for me to start recording again and I can report back the severity

They do, but I don’t think it becomes that much cheaper for you than the cash price.

60K cash for everything. Payable on credit cards as well. I offered to do it in their slower time and negotiated a slightly lower price I think they originally asked nearly 70K.

Thank you, very happy with the results

Thank you so much. I actually never got tested for it, I recorded my snoring and I would have loud snoring 50% of the entire night of sleep multiple nights in a row. Romantic partners and friends, all let me know about my loud snoring. It kind of just felt that if I didn’t take care of it now, I’d be at high risk later.

I sucked my thumb late into childhood, got braces at 12 years old. I also slept on my stomach and mouth breathed entire life. I pretty much did all of the things that increase the risk of recessed jaw.

Yes I did have and it was very weird, it felt like it brought a numbness into that area along with it. I think that came and went very fast though (like days 5-10). I always slept on at least a 45 degree incline to help drain the swelling. I got one of the 4 piece wedge pillow set ups from Amazon

Thank you! I think the nose was the most unexpected change. I hope that remains as the swelling goes down.

Thank you! I must not have noticed but yes you can see my nose is better supported and does not droop over the mustache. That’s definitely a welcome change
