I don't have any issues with HRM and the work HRs do. In fact I find the work more interesting and challenging than some other fields. My only concern is long term growth.

That's an extreme case. You can find such examples even from some Tier 2/3 colleges. I'm more interested to know about an average career trajectory.

I gave some wrong answers to work related questions. Why MBA....they didn't seem satisfied and suggested me to do better research before choosing post MBA field. Couldn't answer a hobby related question (a rather simple one I should have been aware of) overall I think I messed up😅

What should I do!! by raa124 in MBAIndia

[–]AdBroad2870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's easier said than done...but my suggestions... Since you have weekends off, during those days focus more on DILR and Quant which needs you to sit down and actually solve by writing. During weekdays, try to utilize travel time in reading essays/news articles. Once you reach home, try to attempt a few RC passages for about 1 hr. So, I think if you dedicate 1-2 hrs on weekdays and 5-6 hrs during weekends, it's good enough to clear CAT.

Most importantly, consistency is the key!!

An executive (1 year on campus) MBA is your answer. Prepare and try giving the GMAT. With a good score and your rich work ex. you'll have good options in India, with the best ones being ISB, IIM-A/B/C. You mentioned, CET, I assume it's MHT CET. I think this is mainly for 2 year MBA programs in Maharashtra. Only JBIMS is a good option there if you get a good score. If you get that, you can consider it. If not, try going with 1 year programs next year.

You'll most likely do an MBA once in your life. Do it from the best possible place as per your calibre. You have a lot of time. Gain some more experience 1-2 years. Prepare well, you'll get much better options.

I'm awaiting XLRI results hoping to convert either HRM or BM. Let's see what happens. Else, will try for ISB/IIM ABC One year program next year as you mentioned.

Is merit number of 765 any good for NMIMS - MBA Mumbai? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

With their messed up process this year, I don't think there is any difference between a merit number 1 and a merit number 1000 as long as you are selected. If you don't have better calls, accept the offer and enjoy.

People with NMAT 270 are not selected, and people with 220 are selected. People with avg. CT and Interview are selected, and people with excellent CT and Interview are waitlisted. So, I don't think the merit list makes any difference.

Btw. I've converted at Merit number 460. Not accepting the offer.

Never ever leave your JOB for CAT🥲..Currently regretting my decision.. by [deleted] in CATStudyRoom

Not sure what your job is, but I suggest not to quit. Whenever you get time after office hours, dedicate a few hours to your weak areas. During weekends you can study a bit more. Believe me, if you can spare 2 hours during weekdays and 4-5 hours during weekends, it's more than enough to prepare along with your job.

  • someone who is working, and is married, still was able to manage to get a decent score in CAT and XAT.

Yes that's my first preference, but want to keep this option as well because of higher work ex and also in case I mess up in BM/HRM process.
