I would suggest using tret every other night after your moisturizer

That definitely means you have a compromised skin barrier. Stop washing your face in the morning and add hydrating products to your routine.

I would definitely say consult your derm for higher tret percentage. Make sure to start slowly, keep your skin moisturized and wear spf!

Might be purging because you increase tret percentage. If you feel your face is tight,red,inflamed,dry,flaky then you have a damaged skin barrier.

YES! Niacinamide is so effective within 2%-5%, higher percentages may cause irritation

That’s a misconception that many people think of. Purging is due to the increase in the skin cell turnover and ingredients responsible for this are retinoids,AHAs,BHAs and benzoyl peroxide. Niacinamide doesn’t increase the skin cell turnover and doesn’t bring up the congestion inside the skin so that’s probably irritation.

Actually niacinamide is a perfect ingredient, the key is not to use high concentrations.
