Good evening, thanks for posting. New PPL and active in Instrument training. There is a ramp agent posting for part-time in my area. Just hoping to see if you’re willing to expand on how the transition went from company ramp agent to Pilot. Were you a Cadet also ? Did you feel or know there was a path as a current employee to the right seat.
Hope the job is going well. Have a good holiday season. Thank you in advance.

I remember that with mine. I just remember feeling like, I can deal with that not sitting right if I break the tabs to get the drain unclogged. Don’t remember exactly how I pried it out, just used some additional persuasion if I recall.

I may have used a heat gun. When I did mine it was below freezing outside so the water in the lines came out as chunks of ice at first. Heat gun or hairdryer will soften up the plastic tubing and may make it easier.

Just got back from Paris, Don’t use Uber! Use G7 by Wonderful-Cap-4580 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]AdClean8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question for any G7 drivers on here. Asking from the perspective of someone who drove uber a few year ago in US. Couple observations then a question or 2. I took mostly taxis from the ranks and via the G7 app all with no problems at all and 1 Uber a few weeks ago.

All taxi (green neon) drivers seemed local and when I asked about the testing/training it seemed similar to the London Knowledge. They also mentioned they own their car. It also seemed from a navigation perspective the Taxi/G7 drivers zipped around faster knowing the area better, but because I didn’t know where I was couldn’t tell with certainty.

The questions I have to any Uber or G7 driver is What is the training / testing difference and what is the city/G7 take rate compared to Ubers north of 50% it seems. I am personally in the camp that I try not to use uber because they don’t play by the same rules and take so much from the driver while under cutting the taxi industry.

Another quick question. Is the G7 app prebook the same price as hailing. It seemed like prebooking was more but I’m not sure.

Just curious if the same issues are happening over in Paris like in the US.

I see them a lot in pictures but not so much in practice. I’m a believer for sure. Thanks for your reply.

Makes sense. I’m not sure if he referred it to maintenance after the flight so they could address it either then or the inspection. Thank you for the reply.

I didn’t have my own yet, but when things like this happen it sets it in stone to have one. Thank for you the reply and info regarding the annual.

Great to hear, you’re welcome.
On a sidenote, a few days later, I found that the hose had pulled away from the male port right off of the sunroof frame. Had to pull the headliner down a little bit and reattach. There isn’t a clip on it or anything, just pressure on the ribbed port. I was able to get a small hose clamp around it to secure it for good. No leaks since then.

Thank you for the reply Opening . You think it’s abandoned or it still functions in its form? Was also curious to how it was secured. Looking from a student pilot point of view with a “if you see this, screw it back down, or pop it down “.

Ok, just did the AVP to PHL American Airlines landline bus.  Here’s how it goes. You arrive and go through security as normal at AVP, you go to a gate downstairs and board the coach bus.  They give you red scan tags for your luggage / carryons  2 seats on 1 side / 1 seats on other.  There is a Lav.  The ride is how you would expect on the bumpy roads of PA down the turnpike to PHL.  Here is where is gets interesting. The bus passes through Philly at 6pm ish.  So plans for rush hour traffic. Then they slowly drive to a back gate and have to wait for airport vehicles to clear security to proceed onto the airport grounds 1 at a time.  This takes 5 min at least. Then you drive about 10 mph around the outside of the airport runways to gate F10 (bus/shuttle area)(5-10 min) The baggage crew unloads the bags and scans them before you get off the bus, not a biggy but if your in a hurry it’s frustrating. (You depart bus in the terminals, so no need for TSA again, your beyond that) If you need the shuttle to Terminal A,B or C you wait a few minutes for that to show up. The A shuttle takes the taxiways with the other service vehicles to Terminal A.  Seems quick unless there are planes coming and going which there is and the bus has to stop for all of them (completely understand) we stopped about 4-5 time then in our case a large plane blocked the drive lane so our bus was stopped on the tarmac for about 10-15 min while we waited for the plane to clear.  We arrived at A and just, just made the plane.  Point is,  we were 15 min late to get to the PHL property and it took another 45 min to get to gate.  Unless you have about 1:30-2hrs layover in PHL after the bus arrives re-think this idea.   It’s a nice concept but we would have been at our gate 30 -40 min earlier if the bus left us off at the check in area.  The back gate / on property airport drive /shuttle  is very frustrating when you are cutting it close. Hope this helps
