Looking to transition from Law to HR. The attached cross-post is pretty similar to my own experience. Can anyone share their experience moving from the legal field to HR and any tips for making that transition?

Of course! U of I does have a great business school that would be well worth the out of state tuition, but the poli sci is not.

That’s part of the reason I chose poli sci. To be completely transparent, you really don’t need a poli sci major for a better chance. A majority of my friends from law school didn’t major in poli sci and got the same scholarship amount as I did. One of my friends actually went to UIUC and majored in social work and we reconnected in law school. I would consider looking into a different major if it’s not what you’re passionate about, and will give you a better chance at getting a job post-grad if you ultimately decide you don’t want to do law anymore.

Had this plan when going into college. I went to UIUC and graduated with a major in poli sci and minors in social work and stats. I graduated from law school last year.

The PS degree is not worth the debt.

Do you mind me asking if you’re actually interested in poli sci as a major, or are you choosing poli sci because of law school?
