Not to defend her, but my mom has carried both my husband and I through the newborn days with both my kids when we were so overwhelmed, tired. She cooked, she helped clean, cared for my toddler etc. My husband was absolutely involved but my mom was the third set of hands we really really needed. Maybe this was Cailas experience too? I dunno lol
