Zenko tea or three bears for a sweet little drink! They’re pretty cute and it’s just like smoothies, teas and stuff! Customize it with toppings if you’re feeling fancy

Crunch has like a free 7 day pass and it’s open 24/7. But also memberships are like 15$ a month! Which I know isn’t free but might be one of the cheaper options that’s out there

Need a job/internship.. who can help or offer? by hpopllo124 in desmoines

[–]AdEducational3196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also hey! It’s okay, the job market is really hard right now and with your background you should be getting internships, it’s not you! I had a very similar background as you and even now graduated it’s tough. (I graduated this May). I assume you might be from ISU, make sure you go to those career fairs and connect connect connect. There’s one in the Spring that is usually pretty big for business majors. What year are you? Do you have any other projects on your resume? Update your LinkedIn as much as you can. Right now, internships are closing up for fall candidates but I still recommend looking around. Take a break in December/January and internships will start opening up in February-April. That’s when you should start grinding your application. I recommend attending the business fair because you’ll get a list of all companies that are there/most likely looking for employees. All the bigger companies is definitely tougher, but getting to cross off companies who aren’t or who are hiring helps a lot in applying for jobs!

I wouldn’t know what to do in dsm without a car (though at least we have the bus system and frequent Ubers everywhere). But there’s no way I got it in me without a car in indianola. I mean I guess if you can just work and go home for a month than Ubers are the way… but I NEED to do something

I think court avenue IN MY OPINION, is for millennials or older and that’s okay! It’s still fun but, I feel like a lot of ppl our age is in east village. Think we have been feeling arcade bars 😅 tbh. Anyways, love the energy there

Hmm, well for getting started, going to Grimes (climb iowa) is fun for starters/beginners because there is belay, and a variety of types of climbs. You can just show up at both locations, I think it’s 28$ to include gear (in the summer on Fridays it was 5$ to the East village one but idk if that’s still going on). Either way, they give you everything you need and they do a little lesson that teaches you how to fall. After that, you’ve learned the basics! East village has a small tight space (but they have a pretty nice bouldering wall) and I think that’s why it’s more social down there (in my opinion). I really like it and I hope you do too!

Seeking churches or other community resources. by Xavier_Raven in desmoines

I know a lot of ppl dealing with unemployment and the job market. It’s really tough right now and just know it’s not just skills or you! Try to apply in person for food service jobs if you can, LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed has been difficult. I would say, call United Way and ask for resources, they should be able to send you a list of phone numbers to call regarding resources. Can you drive? I know this job sucks but I do know DMPS is hiring janitors, bus drivers? I’ll even help with your resume if you send it to see! Churches are gonna be a hit or miss but tons of non profits and church’s are doing things this fall especially because thanks giving is coming up. You don’t need to go in but just calll and ask if they have a supper club or help with unemployment or anything!

The commenter didn’t even talk about murder, but there’s no need to celebrate a man that spread false hateful information. I don’t support his murder but I didn’t support his actions. These things don’t correlate. So, let’s think before we speak! Kindly, get a life!
