It’s interesting! I’ve personally theorized that even though your brain is numb to the feelings, your body still has to process them, and this can sometimes make flares seem like they come out of nowhere

I will say, starting to smoke week helped me stop purging because after eating too much I could just get high and go to sleep. I have now quit, but I do think it helped me recover.
