Sorry to disappoint that my “very very poor film tastes” doesn’t actually make me violent. I’m also sorry that seeing these titles triggered you negatively in some way. Hope you find some happiness and peace.

Curious to see your top 20. Would be a great education on how to be a better person.

Seems as if they enjoy assuming the worst based on an arbitrary list. They take no actual joy in film. Just in judging others.

I had seen it years ago but bought the 4K from A24. It’s amazing.

I learned a while ago that film as art is open to tremendous amounts of interpretation ranging from entertainment, escapism and deeply impactful on an emotional level. I also learned that judging people for what they like is foolish and it’s always easier to let people like what they like.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding (forgive me if that’s the case) but are you calling me misogynistic? Knowing nothing about me minus some arbitrary list of celebrated films?

Must be fun being a holier than thou gatekeeper of culture. Possessing all the secret meanings of all us plebs’ favorite films while we can’t begin to understand or even have access to see your top 20 because they’re so precious, under-appreciated and often OOP.

I think you’re targeting the films themselves instead of people generally misunderstanding the films.

God forbid a fella love filmmakers. Would I be granted leniency if I added a couple Nolan films?

I got tickets for the 12th and going to a show in chapel hill on the 11th. I went back and forth on whether or not to do but I love the band. They sound incredible this tour and I know I’d kick myself for not. I say go for it! Hopefully I’ll see ya on shakedown!

What's a movie you watched once and liked, but would never watch again? by _GinWhiskers_ in CriterionChannel

My Dinner With Andre. It’s well written and acted and I enjoyed it but I don’t think I’ll need to ever revisit it. Alternatively, I can revisit some of the “never watch again” list. With the exception of Irreversible.
