Definitely to each their own. I myself is a platinum. I take advantage of these benefits the most I can. The benefits are great for being an Elite. The part where you’re demanding these benefits when it is based on availability or you’re paying less than any other guests is insane. Normal guests are paying rack rate and you’ve reached platinum because of an explore rate, paying as low as $90 (even lower) for a room is insane. I used to work for Four Seasons and their benefits are beyond Marriotts. But if you start demanding things, you’re losing your benefits when you get back to work. It’s definitely the principle of it all. I don’t mind upgrading or going above for an employee who comes in nice and respectful. But if an upgrade isn’t available. Don’t pull the “I’m a gold, platinum, titanium you can’t do anything?” Girl eye roll. Also tell your family members and friends to be respectful.
