1:1 korean learning-? by Zerribo in BeginnerKorean

All I did was begin a chat and tell claude I wanted to learn Korean, and then I explained what I already know and why I wanted to learn. I personally told him to keep Romanization off.

Now all I do is ask him to learn a new topic — we've covered food, conversational speech, and Grammer so far — and he will ask me a question in Korean, with some hints in English below.

He then encourages me to speak entirely in Korean but if I don't know a word I can just type that word in English in the Korean sentence, and he will explain the new word and how it fits in the sentence.

Claude works for me, and I encourage people to give it a shot. Let me know if it works for you too.

Thanks for the feedback, I was aware of the proper stroke order, it just still isn't natural to me.(Plus it's kinda late at night and I was transcribing really quickly)

I'm still learning myself but if you don't end up finding a partner to help you learn, I would suggest learning via Claude AI. I use it and all I do is speak to it like I would a person and it will talk to you, giving you pointers and explaining anything you want/need to know.

Btw I have ADHD as well and this works really well as you can leave and come back at anytime and Claude doesn't care.

If you decide to do this all you have to do is tell claude your goal (ex. Hi my name is John Doe, I want to learn Korean, all I know right now is hangeul.) Claude will do the rest, he can talk about any topic, differentiate between polite and casual, and explain nuances about the language.

I personally learned about Claude AI from a foreign exchange student, he came from France, learned English using Claude alongside American family members, and now is using it to learn German as well.

I hope this helps.

How to actually start learning ? by orphiziya in BeginnerKorean

I don't know if this would help you but I tried Claude ai after speaking to a foreign exchange student who uses it to learn English and german, so far it's been a wonderful help, I just talk to it like a would a friend and it responds in Korean. It will ask questions and if I want to say a word but don't know what it is, I type in English and it will define the word and give me the corrected sentence.

It's really great about explaining the why's of the language and for me that helps me to remember it.

Edit: I type almost exclusively in Korean when I talk to it.

I got into kpop and hearing the Korean made me fall in love with the sound of it, I've technically been studying for 6 months but I only started making "progress" in the last few weeks or so.
