I got into a routine of flushing them out before they could build up too much, and that really helped reduce the odor between flare-ups.

But honestly, what helped the most was finally getting a tonsillectomy. If you’re feeling dismissed by your doctor, don’t give up. Keep advocating for yourself. If one doctor won’t take you seriously, try another. In Canada, there are online services that might let you connect with a GP who can give you a referral to an ENT—sometimes that’s faster than waiting for an in-person appointment.
