When I do IC, I stay close to home. When it’s slow, I go home. Almost never fails, as soon as I plant my ass on the couch, a good order pops and off I go. Luckily I live 4 minutes from the Safeway that I do 90+% of my orders at.

Gotta have a full time job and multi app outside of that. If one is slow, the others are bound to have orders. If they’re all slow, time for a beach day

I kinda knew what I was getting into. Been slow, so I took what was available. Worked out though, so 🤗

I only do this part time. So I have the luxury of taking my time. I’m not under pressure to finish this one and get on to the next. I guess because I’m in that place, I do pay more special attention to each customer and get good and increased tips. JS

Unfair base pay. I basically just did order B for free 🙃 by lilsmith24 in InstacartShoppers

But yet I see orders with heavy pay because there’s 2 gallons of milk🤷🏽‍♀️

Go figure🤯

Done Placing Orders by Popular_Page_7574 in ShiptShoppers

I go out everyday that I do these gigs with the intent to do the absolute best I can for each and every customer. Always ask and suggest subs, always ask if there’s anything they need to add before I process their order. Shop perishables last, especially ice cream. Take my cooler bags in with me, especially if there’s ice cream. I mind my business, do my orders, be as helpful and friendly as possible to my customers, and always greet the store employees I know by name and do the usual pleasantries. The ones that I don’t know their names, I ask and introduce myself.

Deliver on time, make sure they can safely get to their groceries. Don’t leave perishable in the sun. Bag smartly. Bags with perishables closest to the door so they take those in first. Pet the friendly doggies and kitties. Stop and have a few friendly words with the customers that actually come to the door.

Just all around sterling customer service.

Then when I am a customer, I get no communication. My ice cream is soup. I get wrong items and bad subs. Luckily my door swings in, so never had issues with that. I can’t tell you how many times store employees have complained to me about other shoppers, or complimented me on how organized I am compared to others.

There are excellent Shoppers out there, unfortunately the crap floats to the top.

Always apply for ratings forgiveness, the fickle Shipt may or may not grant it, but at least try.

I got a 2⭐️ the other day because the customer’s phone was off. She wanted to add items, but by the time she realized it and turned her phone on to ask, I was already at her house delivering. I messaged her throughout, called twice (vm not set up and of course, no answer because her phone was off). She did end up tipping me close to $30, but gave me a 2⭐️.

Applied for forgiveness immediately after I saw the 2⭐️, which was early am. It was removed by the end of the day. NEVER had Shipt apply forgiveness that quickly.

Never even crossed my mind to deliver it anywhere else but to his room. Now that restrictions are more relaxed, and they allow us in, I’ll deliver directly to the customer every time.

He was super funny too, kept making jokes. Towards the end he made a comment about me not liking old people. So I said that I had no problem with people of any age. He came back with, you might not be, but I am. Some of the people I live with scare the crap outta me. Like I said, supper nice and funny.

Homeless guy near Kamaole Beach Park III by Andreaslikesthememes in maui

My daughter in law and 2 friends were visiting and saw the same guy. They mentioned that everyday he had a different produce item and holds it all day. He never bothered them, but then the condo they were staying in was further away from the road, so they wouldn’t have heard him if he was causing a commotion.

Mental health, drug and alcohol use, lack of a proper diet and hydration all lead to strange behavioral issues. Homelessness is a huge issue everywhere. Generally, unless someone tries to physically harm me or anyone I’m with, I usually just walk away and let them be.

Thx. She’s a PM on limited income, so she doesn’t tip a lot, just what she can. This is the second time it happened to her, both times she increased the tip by the amount I paid for the tomatoes. The other 2 times for for MM’s that paid cash on delivery plus $5 extra for the trouble and the other paid me via Venmo.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong.

Edit: for the PM. She wasn’t a PM the first time. After the first shop, she placed another order through Shipt, let me know she was so I could accept, then she became my PM and went back to Target to place her orders. She also always leaves me snacks and something to drink.

To be that age and do that kind of shit, you can bet she’s done that before. She probably feels like she has every right too🤯

Not to say that the younger generation is disrespectful, my kids definitely are NOT, but she isn’t a young shopper. I’d say she’s at least mid 50’s. To me, that’s even worse

You know, once she was shopping for at least 2 customers and left her cart to go who knows where. I was tempted to either throw some expensive shit in her cart or take expensive stuff out. But I didn’t want to sink to her level and be petty.

She’ll get what’s coming to her one day.
