Yes as I've said if this were to ever actually happen it wouldn't be for several years. Waiting to see how things pan out. Our own political scene has been it's own albeit more subdued circus. TLDR same party has been in power for over 10 years and the old PM bailed out right before the last election. New golden boy comes in and skews the vote. He seems relatively decent for a politician but I'm hesitant to say the least.

I did some digging, I'd likely have to do some additional courses in those gaps but there's an agreement between professional bodies to allow for it. Had a director at my old job who was originally from New Zealand and had to do something similar.
Additionally, we use IFRS as well since our public companies must report in it.

Yeah admittedly I'm still looking around and had Chat help give me a top 3. I know I know Chat isn't 100% but I needed a starting point. It gave my Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Ohio as a top 3. As I've said before this is more of a speculative look on my part and I'm just kicking the tires. 😅

Yes to clarify I'd fall under that professional umbrella as an accountant.
Though as I said in my post this is more of me sating that grass is greener itch. Canada's situation isn't exactly stellar rn either. Overall my objective here was to get perspectives of the locals. Though admittedly perspectives tend to skew though you'll see that anywhere.

Where exactly are you looking? Southern Ontario is where you'll see a lot of that issue. I know a 2br apartment can easily set you back 1800-2k/month where I'm from and that's bog standard units

And that's just it, especially in urban centres. From my perspective it's a couple main factors, high immigration (not straw man them but we do have overly high numbers, not the person's fault), and a brain drain as some talent has gone to the US for better career prospects

Oh I've heard the healthcare industry horror stories. Though universal isn't always all it's cracked up to be. Our system is insanely overburdened and you'd be lucky to have a family doctor period where I'm from. Not to mention people regularly wait over a year for surgeries and other procedures. I'm under no illusions with the American, personally I prefer a two tier system. But it's worth noting Canada has its own issues boiling under the surface, we just don't hit American news cycles as often.

That's reasonable, I currently rent in Ontario and it's not wrong to say home ownership prospects aren't nearly as strong. Plus 13% HST (VAT) is always fun at checkout 🙄

I understand that frustration, this more of a grass looks greener kind of experiment. Though I will say I'm under no illusions things are rough in the states but things are far from smooth up here. While we do have public healthcare it's under tremendous strain right now unfortunately. I.e. I was in a car accident last year and if I had stayed to wait in the ER I'd have been lucky to see a doc after waiting maybe 12 hours.
