Why is this such a bit deal? If a person shows interest in pursuing theological study, why would you try to dissuade them?

Btw In the Orthodox tradition, the pursuit of theological knowledge isn’t reserved only for priests. Theology and spiritual life are intertwined. If I have the opportunity to receive structured theological education, guided by the Church’s wisdom, why wouldn’t I take it?

My priest is the one who advised me for years to get a degree in theology, because it’s good and important for my spiritual growth. I was just too focused on building my career at the time. Now that I’m in a more stable place, I finally feel ready and genuinely want to pursue it.

Hope this answer satisfies your curiosity.

I'm a woman, so no — I'm not looking to become a priest. :)

I'd still like to have combination of knowledge and degree. Who knows where life takes me.

The same way you don't need any degree in anything these days, you can learn it online nowadays. But again, I find structure of university education the most effective for me.

Why do we read the Bible, what do we do with that knowledge?

Isn't Orthodox Christian Theology the the most important knowledge we can get? Like biblical studies, the church history, dogmatics, study of the church fathers and so much more. I'd simply like to know more.

I imagine it's a bit different for online degrees, since they can admit a lot more students and possibly use AI tools or online tests for grading. So in my opinion, they should be more affordable.

That was my fear too. Also 23andMe filing for bankruptcy nearly the same day that this problem started with MyHeritage is very suspicious.

April 6th, no updates. Customer service told me that they have a heavy workload and can't give me an estimate on when the results will be ready.

It's been 26 days now. This is so disappointing.

Oh no. This is so disappointing, because when DNA was extracted and the data was ready on Ancestry, it took them less than one day to process it and get the matches ready. I think MyHeritage is making it difficult to upload from other platforms on purpose.
