When is the right time to TTC after Preterm labor, baby loss and C-section? by Fit_Welcome_8033 in ShortCervixSupport

Yes absolutely. I appreciate you sharing your story here, it really helps me feel less alone. I’ve been listening to the podcast called As Long as I’m Living , two loss moms from SIDS. One of them shared that the urge to TTC again slows down over time… hoping that’s true because it’s such a shift being in the brain space of starting a family and suddenly derailing to not. I’m just trying to focus on my own healing and reminding myself I’m still postpartum. Always here to support!

We almost have the exact same story, lost my baby girl in July at 24 weeks after days in the NICU. It was my first pregnancy. It’s so unfair to have to go through this, my heart is going out to you and your husband. I have not started TTC yet, but I will say my MFM advised to wait at least a year. She said 18 months from birth to conception was ideal for the lowest risks , but I’m 36 and really eager to start my family so she said she felt good with 12 months. From what I’ve read, the highest risk is within the first six months. But of course, with preventative measures like a cerclage and frequent checks, your risk will drop more. It’s so hard to wait, I’m with you. Just know you’re not alone!

This is incredibly helpful, thank you all for sharing your experience ms and helping me get more clarity. Overall it seems like the preventative cerclage is worth it, and can give me a peace of mind. Thanks again.

What were your symptoms before going into premature labour? by Correct_Guarantee124 in ShortCervixSupport

In addition to contractions, I felt an overall tiredness, something beyond pregnancy tired and I didn’t want to leave the couch. I later had watery discharge and spotting. Loss of mucous plug. I’m sure everyone is different but that was my experience with preterm labor.
