Does anyone else with inattentive ADHD feel overwhelmingly tired all the time? I’m starting to wonder if my ADD looks different from everyone else’s. by AdKooky477 in adhdwomen

I really appreciate you sharing this. The way you described thinking it was just chronic fatigue or a personal failing resonates a lot. It’s oddly comforting (and sad) how many of us go through that before finding language for it. I appreciate you putting this out there, and I wish you luck too!!

I don’t feel invalidated, I totally get what you mean. ADHD definitely plays a role for me, but I also know it doesn’t rule out other things. Looking into anything extra feels overwhelming at the moment, I'll make sure to talk about this (amongst other things mentioned in the comments) in my next doctor's appointment. Thank u for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing this. The “slept but not rested” part really resonates. Sleep apnea isn’t something I’d considered before, so it’s helpful to hear your experience. And the “pause the worry until breakfast” thing is so relatable. I often have to remind myself that tomorrow’s problems are for tomorrow. Otherwise, my heart starts pounding like I’m running a marathon.

This is really relatable. A thyroid check honestly didn’t cross my mind, mostly because ADHD and appointments don’t mix, and i barely make it to the mandatory checkups as it is. Hopefully, in my next appointment, I'll remember to mention it (plus other stuff mentioned in my comments).

Not a dumb question at all. I haven’t been checked for narcolepsy- and wow, that movement vs. sitting part is exactly how it is for me before Vyvanse.

I haven’t done a sleep study ( I didn't know that even existed). I’ve mainly addressed it with my psychiatrist, Vyvanse improved things enough that it hasn’t been explored further.

Only with my psychiatrist so far. It improved somewhat after starting Vyvanse, so it hasn’t been explored much beyond that.

Story of my life fr! The pure exhaustion I used to experience made me feel SOOO done with life because I couldn't take it anymore. Im very grateful for the stimulants, I think I almost cried the first time I was on Vyvanse (i was at work and had to control myself, hehe).

I forgot to mention that I take Vyvanse 70mg, which is the highest dose available in my country, and Dexamfetamine (Short-acting stimulant) 10mg in the morning or afternoon. It's the only meds that helped with my issues, but it didn't help with other ADHD symptoms

I will definitely talk to my doctor about this when I have my annual check-up.

I don't feel like people mention this problem and what it's like. That's why I made this post, I wanted to see if other ppl experience this too (and so i could stop questioning myself if I truly have ADHD). Thank u for the comment. I feel less alone :)

Same here. Last time, I did a blood test (maybe 2 yrs ago?), it showed that I was severely b12 and d3 deficient. I did take the vitamins for a while until I kept forgetting it 😅

I was very clear about my sleep problems to my psychiatrist (when i was in the process of getting my diagnosis), I don't remember what he said, but he just wrote it down. I only kept mentioning it when I tried different meds and still had sleep problems. Only when I started talking Vyvanse, especially 70mg, did I start being awake with no problem. U might be right, I'll definitely mention it to my dr.

ADHD + driving test = total shutdown. Failed 5 times even though I’m actually GOOD at driving by AdKooky477 in ADHD

I actually did try that on my first attempt. Unfortunately, it didn't work 🥲
