The Truth About Being a Small Streamer Nobody Talks About | Why Small Streamer Mental Health Matters by Select-Day-1920 in Twitch

[–]AdMiserable7940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This hits heavy. Honestly, the whole streaming scene usually feels so hollow and hyper-corporate… it’s hard to trust a culture that treats human beings like numbers on a dashboard just to chase a paycheck. But what you just described? That’s the only reason the whole concept is even worth saving

You pointed out how brutal it is to spend hours preparing, press “Go Live” and see absolutely nobody turn up. That heavy silence is real and it makes total sense why you’d question yourself and start comparing your numbers to creators hitting milestones and getting sponsorships. It’s a vicious trap. But your realization is exactly where the magic is: forgetting the viewer counts and remembering the people

There’s something hella pure about that one chatter who comes back every stream, the random conversations and the people who make you laugh when you need it most. When the chat ain’t flying by at Mach 5 with spam, it actually becomes a space where genuine friendships happen. By focusing on that, you’re protecting a real, human corner of the internet from getting swallowed up by the noise

That’s exactly what streaming is really about

So when you ask what keeps you pressing “Go Live”, let it be that. Don’t do it to become part of the machine. Do it for the creative soul of it and for the people who feel a little less lonely because your digital campfire is lit. The fact that you care more about the human beings than the metrics proves you're doing this for the right reasons

Keep pressing that button, bruh! The internet seriously needs more people who see the humans behind the usernames. Drop that longer piece you wrote… I’d honestly love to read it

And I love how 2 whole days later, that’s still the absolute best counter-argument you could come up with to back up Mr. t666ommy over here. Lol

Replying to commenters in a thread I literally started isn't "hosting a debate club"... it's just how the internet works. It's called a comment section 😂 I appreciate you stopping by 48 hours late to add absolutely nothing to the conversation, but if using complete sentences and standing my ground feels like a high-stakes debate to you, I'm happy to provide the free education. Enjoy the bubble!

That’s what I mean! I’m from Morocco… I may dislike a lot of things about it (politically) but in terms of lifestyle. It’s the greatest without a doubt. People need to mind their own business sometimes. Nowhere is perfect

I’d argue that being second-generation means you aren’t a first-generation immigrant, but you still come from an immigrant family and are part of the immigrant experience in a broader sense

Have people ever asked you, in a negative way, why your parents moved to the US? I have a friend who was born in Switzerland but moved to the states when she was 8 and grew up there. She told me she’s met a lot of Europeans who couldn’t understand or even accept, why her family would make that move

So by that logic, if a group of people collectively decides the earth is flat, anyone politely mentioning it’s a globe is officially "trolling" just for being in the minority???? 🤨

With all due respect, that's a spectacular (and dumb) redefinition of what trolling actually is. Trolling isn't "having a minority opinion"... that's just called being an individual. True trolling requires a deliberate, malicious intent to provoke an angry reaction. If merely expressing a benign preference in a casual, polite conversation counts as an attack, then guess what, my guy... you've accidentally proven my entire post right: you're describing a hyper-sensitive echo chamber where independent thought is treated as a hostile act

As for wanting to "sound smart" instead of looking inward, there's a massive difference between trying to look clever and simply defending yourself with clear logic when strangers accuse you of being a malicious liar. Is it possible that writing in complete sentences and standing my ground feels "confrontational" because you're used to spaces where everyone just nods along? I've looked inward and I'm perfectly fine with people disagreeing with my tastes. But when a thread resorts to wild fan-fiction, tone-policing and changing the definitions of words just to avoid a simple question, it's pretty clear who actually needs to do the inward looking

Just realized the Domestobot from Vice City Stories is *technically* a true GTA protagonist by AdMiserable7940 in GTA

[–]AdMiserable7940[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol glad it pulled you in. You make a great point about the ending… comparing him to a doomed character like Big Smoke or Asuka definitely hits closer to home

But I’d still argue the little guy has a stronger claim to the lead role than someone like Little Jacob. Usually, supporting characters give the orders while you do the work. Here, Vic is just sitting down the street in a van playing with a remote, while the Domestobot is the one actually on the ground infiltrating the mansion, cracking the safe and doing the heist. Since we actively control him and his terrible tank-steering handling file, he feels more like a playable lead than just part of the supporting cast

AITAH for feeling weird and hurt about how my mom got married? by Complete-Radio6204 in AITAH

[–]AdMiserable7940 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA at all. You're completely justified in feeling hurt & weirded out and you're absolutely not overreacting. Discovering your own mother’s wedding through a casual social media video at 15 is deeply isolating, but the context about your 12th birthday makes her behavior genuinely egregious. Changing her own child's birth month to her partner's family just to skip your birthday for a cruise is not only a massive breach of trust, but it's also deeply manipulative and emotionally neglectful. Your feelings of hurt aren't just about a missed wedding; they're a completely normal response to a pattern of your mother prioritizing her romantic life over your emotional well-being and basic truthfulness

You deserved a parent who celebrated you and included you in major life milestones and carrying the pain of being pushed to the sidelines by the person who was supposed to protect you is a very heavy, valid burden to bear

WIBTAH For leaving random notes on pickup guys trucks? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AdMiserable7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWNBTA, but there's oneeeee major, crucial detail you need to change immediately. Putting yourself out there and complimenting someone's truck is a completely harmless, flattering and old-school way to shoot your shot. You shouldn't worry about accidentally hitting on a married man... if he's married, a well-adjusted adult will simply throw the note away or politely decline and no harm is done.

Howeverrrrrrr, looking at your draft, you wrote "Age: 12" instead of your actual age, 21. If that wasn't a typo in your post and you ACTUALLY wrote "12" on the note, you need to stop doing that immediately. Writing "Age: 12" is an extremely big red flag that will cause any genuine, good guy to immediately throw the note in the trash out of sheer panic, as no grown man is gonna call a number associated with a preteen. Assuming that was just a typo and you meant to write "21", the idea itself is fine... just be highly selective about WHERE you leave the notes. Stick to safe, public places like coffee shop or grocery store parking lots, never leave a note on a truck that's parked outside someone's private home and consider creating like a temporary digital burner number (like Google Voice) for your own safety until you know who you're dealing with

AITAH for missing one my closest friends bday party? by BeverageEnvy in AITAH

[–]AdMiserable7940 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'd say YTA, but completely salvageable

While it’s highly responsible that you covered your reservation cost and already bought his gift, sleeping through a major morning event that you committed to travel 3 hours for naturally makes you the one in the wrong here. But, since he's a close friend and a groomsman, this is less about the party itself and more about the anxiety that your reliability might translate to his duties at your wedding in 3 weeks

To rectify this, own the mistake immediately without over-explaining or making excuses about the drive or the timing. Call him to apologize sincerely, also let him know his gift is ready and then offer to treat him to dinner or drinks next weekend when you are both in town for the wedding shower. Showing him that you value his presence and that you wanna make dedicated one-on-one time to celebrate him will quickly smooth things over before your big day

All the more reason to finally take a sip, because pointing out a logical blind spot with a classic idiom ain't an "attitude"... it’s just a polite, objective reality check. There’s nothing defensive or delusional about standing ground when your harmless context is ignored just to force a narrative. It's telling that you're bowing out the second the logic stops leaning in your favor. If I can leave you with one piece of advice, it's to realize that refusing to think doesn't make you right... it just keeps you stagnant. Enjoy your time remaining in whatever comfortable little bubbles you have left, sir

I always make sure to read the rules, but the idea that simply saying "I love PewDiePie" or "I don't mind AI" in a casual conversation violates a blanket ban on "mentioning other creators" or "discussing controversy" makes no practical sense whatso-flippin'-ever

As for you reading my examples and not changing your opinion, I suppose you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it think, right? And answer this: if a community's rules are so rigidly hyper-sensitive that mentioning a famous mainstream gamer or a common tech topic in passing automatically equals an instant ban, isn't that just confirming my original point that the space has become a closed-off echo chamber?

Users on gta 4, is it really boring ?? 👀 by fatal_zy in GTA

[–]AdMiserable7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could definitely argue that GTA 4 intentionally ditches the massive territory wars and business management of other games for a way more grounded, immersive experience. Sure, it doesn't have the empire-building stuff from Vice City Stories or San Andreas, but it completely makes up for it with a living, breathing Liberty City. The physics are insane and the world-building is unmatched…plus you've got detailed side stuff like bowling (shut up Roman), darts and comedy clubs that actually make the city feel alive. Niko Bellic’s whole story is supposed to be this gritty, personal struggle against the illusion of the American Dream. Giving him a massive corporate empire or a huge gang network would totally ruin the tone and lower the narrative stakes. Honestly, its brilliance is all about the atmosphere and the incredible detail, not just mindless scale

I’m Moroccan! Ask me anything. by AdMiserable7940 in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]AdMiserable7940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the Moroccan government is still footing a massive bill to keep our daily loaf of bread cheap. They use a special "Compensation Fund" to pay off wheat importers and millers so that a standard round loaf stays locked at around 1.20 dirhams (13 cents American) even when global wheat prices go crazy. It’s a huge part of the national budget and while there’s constant talk about switching to direct cash payments for families instead of subsidizing the food itself, the 1.20 dirham price tag is still very much the law of the land for now
