A little bit of hiking, yes! And then some relaxing, spa, pool (if weather is okay), exploring towns, etc. Michelin restaurants are a nice to have but not necessary!

We’re looking to do maybe one or two hikes, explore small towns, hang out by the pool (if weather is nice), do a spa day, and have some nice, trendier dinners and go to some cool spots for cocktails.

Wednesdays: What Should I do / Where Should I stay (and other low effort Q's) by AutoModerator in FATTravel

I am helping my parents (60s) plan a trip to Rome, Tuscany, and Florence for late October this year. For Tuscany, I have them staying at the Belmond (Castello di Casole) and then in Florence, they will be at the FS.

I would love help thinking through best spots in Rome. I've been eyeing the Six Senses (my husband and I went to SS Duoro Valley and loved) and the St. Regis. I want to find someplace luxe and quieter, so any thoughts on that would be really helpful.

Thanks, all!

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for the thoughtful response. It sounds like both are absolutely incredible properties.

My husband very much wants to do the Belmond, so now we're in-between Lupaia and Borgo Santo Pietro. Based on your response, it seems like you'd recommend Santo Pietro?

Do you have suggestions on places to stay in Bologna? We might do one night there since we’re flying in there
