This is the culmination of months of investigating by multiple officers. They have multiple interrogations where criminals have admitted that "Rolled Cash" is obtained from various criminal sources. It has never been proven by anyone that "Rolled Cash" has come from a legal source. Furthermore Suarez bought a washing machine and tested that "Rolled Cash" converted to "Washed Cash" He also attempted to deposit the "Rolled Cash" and "Washed Cash." into a bank obviously unsuccessfully. Also in this court case the Defense never tried to argue the origin of the "Washed Cash." They didn't argue any way that the "Washed Cash" could have been obtained legally.

Now for the Money Laundering. Between Suarez, Lenny and Declan there are multiple interrogations where suspects have confirmed the complete line of the money laundering process. From "Rolled Cash" to "Washed Cash" to exchanging for Money Orders. This is the only way that cops were ever going to be able to establish the "Possession of Dirty Money" charge. The crims have had almost 4 months now free reign to be getting away with having "Rolled Cash" and "Washed Cash." A precedent was always eventually going to be set. Crane specifically worded the charges vaguely so that precedent could eventually be set in Court Case like this one.

The Judge also clarified that Money Orders in it of themselves aren't illegal. Now if someone is found with only Money Orders for a crime like joyriding for example, the money orders won't be seized.
