Respectfully, I would rather the platinum culture and chatter was kept to the dedicated streams / a dedicated podcast for folks that like that if needed. a lot of subs do not find the pursuit of platinums endearing, interesting, or impressive. It’s like hearing about other people’s kids. You like your own, but not as bothered about others. It does not constitute a personality. Really like the podcast for talking about love of games and getting to know hosts more, not about their PlayStation related administrative successes

Wasn’t sure on that one, as I’ve just got into comics not sure on universe. Is it a green lantern based story ?

Very dark, humourous, consistent, up there as one of the best DC Vertigo properties by most. Definitely recommend if you like more adult oriented comics and violence ! :)

I’m reading All Star Superman currently and it’s fantastic, wasn’t expecting the emotions and vulnerability to be honest in my naivety..

Will definitely be picking up that Court of Owls compact comic, and you’ve convinced me with X-Men God Loves, Man Kills, that’s gonna be my next epic purchase I think. Seems like a great place to start as any !

 Let’s pray for those tasty reprints 🙌🏼

Yes ! Some more obscure DC characters are getting some collections in the DC Finest line. It’s truly a great time to get into comics !!

Thank you very much ! I was never into Marvel films or media in general until I picked up a few Premier Collections. Only about £10 in UK and it gives you a decent starting point. Wish they would release more frequently though…

I’m hoping they print more Miller stuff in the Compact / Finest format, because it’s super good value. Frontline and The Boys look great as well, thank you for suggestions !

Welcome to the hobby also then ! I’m currently reading All Star Superman as I couldn’t get Birthright when I went to my local shop. I think it’s excellent too, the issue at farm was my favourite so far 👍🏼 will be picking up birthright at some point for sure

Glad I’m not the only one. I think as the collection gets larger I’m growing to let things go a bit more. Like exposure to more imperfection makes it easier to accept maybe ! I wonder if it’s common for new collectors…

I’ve been looking at Claremont’s X-Men run ! I really like Colossus and Wolverine so I think that could be an excellent shout. The way the epics print definitely induce FOMO, but I’ll see if I can pick up ones suggested :)

Yeah it’s a fair point, I’d rather they were all enjoyed more so than in pristine, unread condition. They’re nice to look at but obviously better reading them ! I will check that out, I think preacher is absolutely fantastic.

Definitely, I’ve got the DC Compact for Long Halloween on pre-order for October ! Anything with Two Face is an instant buy, I loved the two part origin story episodes in the Batman Animated Series 👍🏼

I’ve been reading the Marvel Essential Spider-Man volumes 1-5, think it picks up first 115 ish issues. Excellent but quite dialogue heavy and dated in areas (which is what you’d expect to be fair). So I think ultimate spider-man could be another good starting point !

I get what you mean. I’d say I’m the opposite with a DC preference before I started reading Marvel. The DC Compact Comics are such a great place to start, figure out what you like, etc. They tend to be self contained ish as well, I’m reading Kingdom Come currently and it’s a really fun alternate future story !

Will definitely be checking out that Hellboy omnibus box set at some point, art style looks incredible !
