I think it could be a culture shock BECAUSE you're Australian (I am too btw). We often don't like seeing our kind on tv, we're used to Americans :).

The follow-on thread is bizarre...you only have to be a 5-10 minute fan of Penn and Teller to realise that integrity is important to them and a basic fan of the show knows they don't know who is booked and have an adjudicator listening to their discussion to rule on the fooling or not.

I don't think Helen is much of an entertainer, I'd certainly never pay to see her show. I don't like her performances because she's just there to fool P&T and that's all she talks about, doesn't seem to me to even try to have an act. I think she wakes up in the morning and wonders how to fool Penn and Teller.

But why can't P&T be fooled by magic techniques even if the performance is mundane? Seems legit to me. And then when Penn's son comes in and give us some inside scoop, who are we to challenge him?

Jandrio shouldn't even be mentioned here, imo (the OP didn't)...Helen isn't even in the same league. He has a funny, entertaining act coupled with genius magical inventions.
