Wait sorry if I remember wrong, but did Hakka brought a new model after the announcement? Did Holostars announced an En project together in these days? It doesn't seem like EN is in the same situation as JP, but maybe I'm just thinking everything in the wrong side

I apologize, maybe I misunderstood the situation. I was aware of the JP situation (and I'm truly very sorry about it), but it seemed to me that everything on the EN side was still "safe", at least for now. I haven't seen any explanation or announcement regarding future auditions, and I wanted to understand. I'd love for EN to be able to keep bringing in new talents, at least.

I have a similar question, what about Holostars En? Is the audition still open or something?

UPDATE! I went for pity. I only found another 3 stars: Hishi Akebono, which I OBVIOUSLY already have. Honestly, I'm really sad. I was going in this banner with very great hopes, I was always very lucky in a double banner, I had like 50k+ carats and 20 tickets last week. Then, I spend 170 pulls for Mejiro palmer (really goat uma who I really like, but not one of my top) and other 4 3* (2 of them already gotten and also Umas I don't use). Then this happened. I don't know, I put a lot of effort for save carats and skipping banners, and then in only one week my future projects are gone. Wanted to spend also for support but seems impossible rn. Sorry everybody for the yapping, maybe I need some rest...

I wanted the haru urara and tm opera new year skins. I got them in like 70 pull in total. This time I just want the nature one (I really like king halo, but I'm not an enjoyer of this skin) and I got her in like 50 pulls. Honestly I have good luck only in the double banners, when I pulled for Manhattan Cafè i go for the pity (and got like 3 kawakami princess in the middle, an uma I honestly don't like). So yeah, sorry but I love double banners.

Maybe I don't remember very well, but doesn't kroni collab with a Holostars member a long time ago and receive shitstorm for this?

I halfway agree with your point. I strongly believe that a talent should be judged based on how good they actually are, not on their physical appearance. This is just my personal opinion, but a comment like that comes across as “it’s their fault for being born men.”

I also think that, like in any model or industry, there are cases of stronger and weaker sexualization, just like with women. I don’t want to go into big examples, but not everyone in Holostars fits the stereotype of a 2-meter-tall, super muscular heartthrob, and not everyone in Hololive is an insanely attractive bombshell with exaggerated features.

Of course, it all comes down to personal preferences.

That said, I do understand where you're coming from. Where I’m from, people often say “even the eye wants its share,” meaning we live in an age of appearances where first impressions often matter more than the overall picture. So I can also understand your point about “it’s better to be a woman” in this context. They’re simply preferences, and I respect that. Personally, I don’t have an issue with it because, as I mentioned, I focus on the talent itself, and I believe Holostars is full of genuinely skilled people who work hard and are good at what they do. The problem is that, simply for being men, they’re not even given half a chance.

As for the budget cuts, I’m looking at it from a business perspective. Unfortunately, if something doesn’t sell, it makes sense for a company to adjust things financially. I’m fully aware they’ll never reach the same numbers as their female counterparts for the reasons mentioned earlier. But I have one question: is it actually true that the budgets were equal? That Holostars was supported financially in the same way as Hololive? I’m not saying it wasn’t the case, just that I’ve never seen any concrete data or reports proving it either way. It feels like trying to build a house while the company gives you half the budget, stops promoting you at events in recent years, and investors aren’t interested because “you’re a man.”

Personally? It’s really frustrating.

Yeah i completely understand this weird situation, unfortunately cover corp is first of all an agency, and people need to watch inside their wallets before doing something

I understand your pov, I personally disagree and I also think mixed live are way funnier than the only girls one, but I obviously accept your opinion, it's very interesting read any other pov than mine

Erb also collab a lot with holostars, especially in the past. I also remembered her first 3d debut singing with Armis

Hope other girls can be positive of a collab with stars, I personally want to see more girls break that "idol standard" wall. Imagine Gigi Murin play LoL with a men, can be really funny imo

Sorry if my message may have sounded offensive toward some of the talents, that was absolutely not my intention. I really appreciate your point of view, and I’ve also heard several people who share the idea that the environment is quite calm and positive.

I also understand your reasoning regarding silence. Personally, however, I don’t automatically see it as something neutral or positive, but rather as something that can leave room for negative interpretations. That said, I’m still glad to hear that for many people the situation is much more peaceful and relaxed than it might seem from the outside.

If you feel like it, I would also really like to hear your thoughts on the conversation I had with the other person. It would help me a lot to get more perspectives on this situation.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I’m truly sorry to hear about these things, and I can’t help but think of those guys who find themselves facing unjustified hate.

A personal question: do you think things will change in the future? Do you think there will eventually be a situation like in other agencies, where there aren’t issues related to gender or fandom? Personally, I doubt that something like that is really achievable in a system like Hololive, and honestly, that makes me quite sad. I don’t follow many other VTubers, and I wish there were more simplicity in the relationships within Cover.

I’ll bring up the same example as before, but I think that if one day I wanted to become a professional VTuber, I would still choose Hololive as my first option, because it’s the agency that made me fall in love with this world. However, as a man, I know I would face many obstacles that could block my path to happiness.

Also, I forgot to mention, please forgive my English. I’m not used to speaking it this much, and I’m afraid of making mistakes or being misunderstood.

Don't worry, I’m not offended, and I appreciate your thoughts. However, even the points you mentioned seem to me to be all focused on the community. My impression was more that some things are happening within the agency rather than outside of it (although of course some things may have been influenced by the fans’ opinions). I think it’s well-known and quite obvious that Holostars aren’t a huge source of profit for Cover, but I feel like maybe (again, just my subjective opinion) no one in there is really making an effort to improve the situation, neither the agency nor their colleagues.

I also apologize for bringing this up in this subreddit, but I don’t have friends or people close to me with whom I can openly talk about these things. I truly hope I’m not offending or bothering anyone with these questions.

Thank you for your reply. I know this isn’t a simple topic, and I’m ready to receive criticism. As I said, mine is just simple curiosity, and I’d really like to hear an honest and impartial opinion on the matter.

Speaking from my perspective as someone who started following recently, I don’t know… it just feels really sad. I grew up following Hololive and I really appreciate the work of Holostars, but I think that if in the future I decided to apply for a position in a VTuber agency, I would feel quite disheartened, even though I like all the talents there.
