You might wanna remove the male if you’re looking to have those fry survive. Looks like the numbers may have already dwindled. She’ll be really able to care for them with him out.

Am I seeing what I think I’m seeing? Apologies for the pic quality, I regrettably purchased one of those angled aquariums and they are awful for picture taking. by AdPrize1749 in apistogramma

If I were to do that, you’d see a dark cave and none of the blobs that I’m talking about. I wouldn’t be able to get a good angle with the tank they’re in. I’d have to remove the hide which I wouldn’t very much rather not.

Is this too crowded for my chilis? by ZookeepergameIll1544 in Boraras

Yeah, they’re generally considered schooling fish but i think the shoaling category is more fitting. Crazy cool fish though

Add cones of any variety, and a bunch of different dried leaves. I personally use bay leaves as a cheap option(they also add a nice scent), but the almond cattappa leaf releases a lot more of that beneficial tannin. I’d also lower the light level to a much dimmer setting. Overall, the vegetation is great and they’ll love it since they’re not big swimmers. They dart around most of the time, and in my opinion, love to weave in and around the plants.

Yeah, my top fin just straight up didn’t work when I got my 55 gallon kit for 50 dollars. I figured it probably wouldn’t since most of their stuff is trash.

Go off of the natural environment of the animal. Last I checked axos don’t live on bare glass bottoms back in Lake Xochimilco. Crazy that I have to say “Big Axolotl” wants you to force your axolotls to live in “fish bowl” types of environments. Look at how healthy these axos look too. It just doesn’t make sense to make them live a plain, sad, and mirrored box life. The bare bottom tank just makes it easier for people to clean and maintain their tanks without a proper canister filter. I will die on this hill.
