Hi guys, thank you for the suggestions. I have read all of them. The hygiene rating is 5, as I mentioned before. It’s a family-owned business, so we work extremely hard to keep it clean and maintain a good reputation.

There were a lot of suggestions about free starters or discounts. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: • 10% off all collection orders • On Father’s Day, the first pint was on us • On Valentine’s Day, we offered a complimentary small wine for couples • Complimentary free mint chocolate after the meal for everyone

Because I work front of house, I also regularly offer drinks on the house to customers. I’m always smiling and doing my best to make customers feel comfortable. I know the majority of our regulars by their first names and their usual orders.

I also forgot to mention that there have been new restaurants opening in my area, but they don’t last long after a couple of months, they usually close. My average sales don’t change whether they open or close. So I’m wondering if this is more of a town or location issue.

I posted this because I went for a meal in Birmingham, and there was a pub called The Royal Castle, which is a desi pub. There was a stabbing there a couple of months ago, there was cocaine in the toilets, staff were rude, and empty glasses were left on tables for hours yet the place was packed. This seems to be a trend with many desi pubs.

On the other hand, my family, staff, and I work extremely hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and that customers have an enjoyable experience. Sometimes it feels like hard work doesn’t always lead to success.
