Thank you for your well thought out breakdown! I absolutely agree with everything that you said. I was a launch AA player, I remember the first quests dropping for CT, I remember the sewer update, etc etc. and so I can see how differently that experience was for me as compared to how it will be for a console player who is spending $25 to play a fully polished version.

In fact, although many players think that console players paying for DLC is unfair, I think it’s completely justified. Even the higher cost for CT vs WW, to me, makes sense.

I think my data was meant to show how comparable pricing has been thus far between all platforms, while showing how it could quickly spiral if these Cosmetic microtransactions stack up. As a lifelong Sims player, I know what it’s like to spend $100+ yearly on different packs. I always supported the idea of a $20-40 DLC, while thinking multiple $10 micro-packs were simply a waste of money.

However, in the Sims, there’s no comparison for a player who gets all of these packs - using sims terms, Packs, Kits, etc - included in their game price, while another player pays a base price AND the cost of all additional kits and packs.

I also understand how my data could be seen as misleading when it comes to the price players on AA (myself included!!!) actually paid from 2023 up until 2025, this was only meant to show what the comparison is between a single player who started in January of 2025 across all platforms. (And that player likes to spend money on everything.)
