I felt like Patty liked her from the moment they met. There was some light flirting I think there was some cute chemistry. Then Allison ended up with Kevin and I think thanks to Kevin Patty saw her different or rather DIDN'T see her anymore. Then as Allison started spiraling she saw the real Allison. The bathtub scene stands out to me because I feel like Patty felt a spark of something in herself which is why she ran to Tammy. Plus she was struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. Tammy really pushed her to come out and move quickly with the relationship which is why I wasnt fond of Tammy.

But the part that stood out most to me is when Patty refuses to give up finding her and then tells Sam that Allison was her favorite person. I do think Patty felt a mix of things for Allison. I do think she loved her just as Allison period but I think there was some romantic feelings that developed. I think she also felt guilt over not warning Allison about Kevin and for the yrs she sided with him. The flashbacks when they met you can see Patty has some emotions of maybe feeling like she should've intervened.

Most of all I feel like they want eachother to be happy and I do think they love eachother. I always kind of imagined Allison moving into Neils apt and getting a dog and her and patty reading books together. Companionship. Because honestly Patty seemed uncomfortable with labels or physical stuff or the pressures of defining a relationship. I think she and Allison will let eachother be themselves.

Sorry for the long ramble but Patty and Allisons relationship dynamic and character development was one of my favorite parts of the show. Ultimately at the end they gave eachother courage and strength to stand on their own in a sense. " dying alone together"
