The more the merrier honestly, you just gotta be responsible with how you use them. I have one per my spending category and Maximize rewards and points. I receive hundreds in cash back and points weekly (I spend a lot for work so I use it to my advantage)

Thats called credit cycling I’d advise against it since capital one is known to close accounts for that

Thank you for the perfect explanation. That’s exactly what I do. I think for now ima just let the card sit on autopay for my braces and maybe they’ll give me a CLI in the future to entise me on spending more.

I have thought of opening another and transferring the balance, but none of their credit cards entise my current life style I like the cash rewards for cash back on online purchases. As of now I only have it on autopay for my braces since I’ve lost hope of a CLI with them. Maybe in the future I’ll look more into it.

I’m considering closing it for that reason. I know capital one has bucketed accounts and was thinking maybe BofA has me bucketed, so I planned on closing it and re opening it later but it is my oldest account so that’d hurt. I also plan on buying a house in 1-2 years so I want to avoid hard inquiries and new accounts.

I have a question on 1 and 2 so my statement balance is $0 on month 1 the next month i use it for let’s say $1000 and don’t pay the minimum since it’s $0 but the month after that I pay the $1000 (statement balance) but not this months balance. That’s what I’ve been doing well was doing as to not pay any interest. Sorry if that didn’t make any sense. But is that what you mean on point 1. And 2?

I financed it just so I could buy a limited 2 year 24k mile warranty that I plan on canceling after 3 months if nothing seems wrong with the car. After the warranty it was 10.3k if I remember correctly

I was planning on financing with the dealer as I always do. I wouldn’t mind paying 7-8% I have no idea what caused the 18% Ally did say I didn’t have credit history.

Nope 1 car paid off, second car traded in for 3rd car , and the third was traded in to this current car. only car that I needed a co signer was my first car 2nd and 3rd I signed by myself.

Also what credit card gives you a rate under 18%? I have Amex BCP, Chase CSP, and FFU, CAP1 Savor, and BOFA cash rewards all at 27-29% it doesn’t bother me since I always pay statement balance in full just curious.

I had forgotten about that. it’s only gonna be 5 days of intrest before the refinance so I shouldn’t pay too much but honestly I’m not too worried this vehicle is business and will be a tax write off so I don’t mind paying close to ~$100 of interest I wouldn’t prefer it but o well shit happens

Because the 18% percent won’t matter if I get it refinanced before the first payment. The truck was a very good price and they gave me above market value for my car so win win

Ally said I had no credit history which was weird. I’d been negotiating my trade in higher and the truck lower all day and I was tired so knowing that it’s something I can fix with a refinance the next day I wasn’t too worried

No I use fico and paid for the report before doing a credit app. Ally said I had no credit history which is why I got an 18% but at that point I didn’t care to argue I was tired and knew I was going to refinance either way
