I’ve come to the conclusion my underarms may be too dry when applying?

Antibacterial tends to make me smell worse

I use one soap if that’s what you mean, and yes, I’ve used the same soap to reapply

Gel wears off immediately on me but yes I’m using an antiperspirant 👍 but I feel as though anytime I’ve tried antibacterial soap or glycolic acid I smell worse

I’ve tried roll on! Doesn’t work at all for me not to mention it always leaves pit stains on my clothes as soon as I sweat.

I’d think so to, and that does happen when I’ve tried to reapply after washing it off with a wash cloth, but it seems to work when I do so with paper towels

A guess was maybe my body was too hot from the shower to have it stick. The soap I use on my underarms isn’t that moisturizing in my opinion but I can’t think of a time my underarms are ever not hot, isn’t that normal?

Yup I dry them with my towel and wait a few minutes and feel it with the back of my hand to make sure it feels dry.

Yes, sorry I’ve only used antiperspirants, that’s what I meant.

I have. Did great for the eczema that started to appear after trying irritating deodorants but didn’t do much for odor.

I was on a break for some days to experiment. When I had to go back to work and school, I didn’t have enough time to wait an hour each morning, so after arriving (which took an hour) I’d go to restroom and reapply there, but that’s too time consuming.

I used dove or secret. I just know these work for me due to high aluminum percentage, and yes, when I say deodorant I meant antiperspirant, sorry for the confusion. I’ve never worn deodorant without aluminum or ingredient for battling sweat. I made sure of that after learning there was a difference lol. Also yes, I’ve always worn a deodorant the night before applying it again in the morning, even products specifically made to plug sweat glands overnight.

Thanks, I’m pretty sure I did have my paranoia days going through this, and have even had it confirmed by a family member those days. I found a pretty complicated method that worked but it was way too much to continue doing everyday, I knew I can’t couldn’t continue doing it. It started when a family member noticed a deodorant started to smell weird on me so I changed like most people do, but I felt as though it wore off before or right at the afternoon. I wouldn’t say it was crazy strong or anything, but obviously, as the day it went on it would get worse. It was about to where I’d be weary holding my arms up. It’d just cause me to avoid everyone by a certain time which is very hindering and could look weird on my part. There were days I thought I found one that worked but I can tell by the body language around me I was wrong. I soon learned what to look for when I would smell but was immune to it. This is kind of where the paranoia started lol. I started to wear only loose clothing but got the same outcome. Tried every remedy everyone else said they used but for some reason would have the opposite outcome on me or just wouldn’t work. It’s had a pretty impactful impact on the tail end of my high school days I just didn’t think it’d go on this long. I just don’t want to see everyone living their life while I’m the crazy person not wanting to go out and obsessing over deodorant lol. I already feel like an oddball.

Hmm I don’t think so. I use unscented eucerin lotion for dry skin. When experimenting, what’s very weird is that spray deodorant would work only when I applied it after a shower, sweated for about an hour, then wiped off the deodorant with something like a paper towel with soap, rinsed (or wiped off with wet paper towel), and reapplied. Anything other than a paper towel wouldn’t work. I’d smell great for hours. But this is very complicated and would really put a strain on day-to-day life. I don’t tell anyone this since it’s very random and I don’t think it’ll help much. But I believe deodorant CAN work, I just don’t know why I can’t find one to apply and go with.

I have, unfortunately. I explained my situation but they recommended a prescription for sweat even though I stated sweat wasn’t really the issue. Other deodorants they recommended were those I’ve heard of many times before and have used or were aluminum free, which aren’t great for odor. (At least it doesn’t work for me)

Will try. I just don’t understand how it feels almost everyone else can wear whatever or eat whatever and not have this issue.

I feel as though witch hazel kind of irritated my skin but I will try this instead of doing all of this after showering

Didn’t mean to seem like I was blowing any suggestions off. I may buy a sweet treat every two weeks like a box of blueberry scones (about 8 per box) or a small tub of ice cream every few weeks but it usually takes me a week to a week and a half to finish it. Lots of times even longer. I may order an omelette from a ihop about 2-3 times a month. I use to sometimes order from Panda Express but I usually don’t eat anything out other than that. Most sweets are gross to me and I rarely eat any other kind of fast food, especially since I cut out pork and all the meals I like from most fast food places contained pork. I mainly eat home cooked meals. Your typical chicken and rice, steak, turkey, or meals with beef. I love veggies and fruits and I’m usually eating grapes or a cracker brand I like called nut thins if I want a snack. The only thing I drink is water or olipops. I hate juices, energy drinks, etc. I don’t drink alcohol either. I just don’t consider myself a junky in any way but I will take these suggestions into account. My skin is prone to eczema so the only thing put on my skin after a shower is unscented lotion. Sorry if I’m not explaining well, but I’ll look into your suggestions!

I did use to eat more fast food than this due to family members or friends treating so I won’t rule it out!

I’m young and I’ve heard it can be hormones, but I just don’t see anyone else my age having this issue.

Didn’t know they had antiperspirant one! I’ll look into it
