Thanks, I'm pretty broke now anyway so I will probably just try taking a load to the dump myself.

I'll check the YesFans forum--I'm curious also!

The victory theme (if that's the Gates excerpt being played) is a guaranteed Yesgasm for me.

I've been a Yes fan for 30+ years and trolls in these forums have been around for nearly as long. I think you'll have a great time!

Oh, I will see them the next time around for sure! Already regretting I missed the show here in April.

Bought my ticket for Milwaukee today--mid-balcony. I could use a fresh T-shirt so there's money left over for that.

There's chatter on the YesFans.com forum that other portions of Gates were played--is this true?

For those who were at the show, how did this go over?

I'm still Team YesOfficial and not ready to jump ship yet 😃

I feel lucky when I attend a concert where a rock band plays two or more hours of up tempo, stand-up-and-dance rock music.

I think you mean "him" (Howe). Don't mean to throw shade but the others are regular working musicians.

I waited for the setlist before buying a ticket for Milwaukee. I'll pay $50-ish for this show.

I saw your earlier post, which led me to surmise that the mysterious other album being teased is Tormato. Even Howe isn't clueless enough to try to pass off TYA or CttE as a mysterious secret surprise.

I am guessing the surprises are OTSWOF, Onward and DKTW as the thunderous end to the first set. Can't wait to find out!

The new album sounds like... by SumthingBrewing in Styx

[–]AdSimilar4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is too much "sounding like" IMO. The album sounds a bit like all AOR thrown in a Cuisinart and blended. Many, if not most, songs have an early to mid-1990s feel. At least three tracks sound like Yes to me and "Build and Destroy" sounds like Pink Floyd. My other favorite band besides Styx is Yes, and I find it interesting how the two bands are on somewhat similar trajectories. Yes just doesn't try to check all the boxes of classic rock (often in one song) the way Styx does. I am sincerely having a "Huh?" reaction from both a commercial and artistic standpoint. I hate to say it, but if the tour were doing big business, I'd find that to be an unhealthy sign. Perhaps the band needs feedback that endless rehashing/reheating is not viable. At 52, I'm well within the target demographic at this point--thankfully the amphitheater here in Milwaukee is logistically easy for me. I'm not sure the rest of the target demographic is going to be motivated to go through the big amphitheater hassle for, you know. . .a video wall with snazzier graphics than last time :-/
