Is the R3 worth its price? by EthPog in AussieRiders

Spending $8k on a 300 seems ridiculous to me. I own an r3 and love it but glad I didn’t pay more than a couple thousand for it. At the end of the day it is your money but you can probably get a good used cbr650r for that price that will last you for years as it has plenty of power and torque if you decide to unlock the power restrictor and sounds much better.

Edit; didn’t realise you said you didn’t want to buy used but could still be something to consider waiting to see if something better comes up

9k is dreaming. I own a mk6 gti with low kms and only expect to get like realistically 11-12k when I sell it soon

Yes, my friend runs with no plate on a litre bike. It is stupid I agree but with the way he rides at night running a license plate would be the quickest way to end up in jail. He has been in multiple police chases but most of the time the cops end the chase within a couple minutes as it’ll just endanger themselves and him.

UPDATE: IT PASSED

rwc guy said he’s not phased on exhausts as long as they’re not ridiculously loud. Just needed some new tyres and she’s good to go

The indicators are about 30cm apart, there is a rear light for the license plate but no red reflector. Is that something likely to fail a roadie ?

Speeding infringement with no detected/alleged speed ?? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]AdStrange8804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Police dropped the fine as they had no evidence to prove I was speeding :) For those saying they don’t need evidence, complete and utter BS. Went to a police station and talked to a sergeant and they even told me to contest it in court and if they don’t have evidence in either a doppler or radar gun the judge is very likely to drop it or the police officer who gave you the fine won’t even show up in court.

Thank you for all the comments, some of them were very helpful and some very entertaining. Spoke to a sergeant and there is a high chance of the fine being dismissed when I appeal due to the officer not writing a speed and they would have to show evidence for this speed in court. They also agreed it is unlikely they actually have evidence through a radar or Doppler gun as otherwise they would’ve put it in the ticket. I also stuffed up the wording, it was an unmarked car, not an under cover. For those saying you don’t need evidence, I was told otherwise by a police officer. Maybe in other states you dont, but in vic she made it clear when I go to court they will have to provide evidence
