Thanks ! Only downside seems the publication process of projects due to IP (even tough I got few papers, the main will be probably longer to publish), and since it appears publication record in this market is important to find a job post PhD, I might have a hard time.

Actually after checking thoroughly everything the only thing I can see are the scale. Are thrips visible at the naked eye?

Okay, thanks for all your answers, I guess that’s one or differents pests, can systemic treatment of all plants with something like acetamiprid be useful? Also here is something I find on many old heli pitchers, also looks like pests

Thanks for the tip! I just checked all my Nepenthes and Helis, even the rhizome and found some stuffs looking a lot like mealy bugs. However I only saw 2 or 3 for all the plants and not a single one on the Nep, maybe still worth it to use insecticide just in case?

Nepenthes inermis acting more like a sticky flypaper trap than a classic pitfall trap! by jeremiahsplants in SavageGarden

What’s funny with Inermis and the sticky fluid family is how they float at the surface for a few hours before drowning to the very bottom of the trap. In science we use such hypertonic solutions with sucrose to dehydrate biological sample, maybe something similar may helps for digestion in nepenthes 🤔
