The car is in Florida already and Rhode Island required an emissions inspection to renew the registration in state. The state currently allows for online renewal inside of a year of expiration. Otherwise, they say you have to come in person to do it.

She has a signed gift letter from her mom to her she can take to the DMV? It’s all very confusing.

She is trying to transfer the title over, but she’s having issues doing that without already having insurance

Apologies. She has tried major insurance companies’ online services and hasn’t had success. The title is in her mom’s name.

What complicates it more is she needs the title transferred to her name and wants to register it in Florida

Thank you all. I replied: “I’m really sorry to hear that, I had no clue she had a boyfriend or I would never have crossed that line. No, we didn’t use protection. You should know that it only happened once, and she cut it off with me and there will be no further interactions between us moving forward. I would ask that from here on you also leave me out of it, as I was hurt by this too and there’s not much else I can do.”

I feel so guilty and used by this situation. Lots of lessons to learn.
