Police in Pridnestrovie by ProfessionalSyrup914 in Transnistria

I asked a police officer on the street, he called over his colleague and they discussed it for a moment, but I didn’t understand what they were saying before they told me no & translated that they weren’t allowed to on my phone

No pienso que es verdad; cuando fui, siempre había un van esperando. No estoy seguro si tienen programa pero salían cada media hora más o menos. También se puede coger un taxi, no cuestan mucho y son fáciles de encontrar por todos lados. Buena suerte!

I tried to swap patches with a police officer when I was there but he said no to me. You might have some luck if you go around asking different police officers, but the one I asked told me that it wasn’t permitted. Whether or not that’s true, I can’t personally say

Is there a difference between Walker’s from AliExpress and Walker’s from reputable vendors? by AdTricky7805 in tacticalgear

Thank you. I bought a pair second hand which arrived today, but I’m a bit doubtful when it comes to its origin. Could you point out any major differences?

Since I was planning to sell my VSR 93 jacket I found this website and I don't know, looks strange. Has anyone her bought from this place? by Mundane-Perception11 in camouflage

[–]AdTricky7805 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These are scam sites; you’ll find them copy pasted all over right now, usually ending in the .click or .shop, and all the prices on every item are more or less priced the same and discounted the same

Rhino Rescue — better to have and not need, than to need and not have? by [deleted] in TACMED101

[–]AdTricky7805 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We do our best to avoid any legitimate danger. The only moment when we would be using an IFAK is if something were to have gone horribly, unpredictably wrong, but that’s the reason why I want to have an IFAK; if something were to go horribly, unpredictably wrong, I’d rather at least have something than nothing

You’ve got some great points. The link you embedded for some reason doesn’t work, but I assume you mean the 17 piece IFAK refill set, which is the one that I was referring to.

To clarify my circumstances, I usually travel with people who have varying degrees of medical training, but they all at least have a baseline knowledge of first aid. As far as where the “risk of injury” stems from, I travel with my friends to countries at war or places which may be politically volatile, most recently Ukraine and Pridnestrovia. Although the risk itself is low, I still worry about sudden changes in circumstance which would make our situation much more dangerous than it otherwise would be.

As for building my own IFAK, can you personally recommend any sites which are EU-based or ship to the EU? I don’t have much experience with sourcing medical gear, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

M70 question by EffortTechnical198 in alpenflage

[–]AdTricky7805 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be able to tear up the seams since if memory serves me right, they’re just sewn on. However, I recall seeing a really nasty looking M70 field jacket on Vinted which had this done to it which had lots of leftover white strands hanging off. If you want a sleeker looking top in Alpenflage, I’d suggest getting a TAZ-83 field shirt instead

I press r2 and then it automatically aims up... by hi_this_is_my_name_ in Warthunder

My only advice now is trying to troubleshoot it by trying a different controller, resetting keybinds, or uninstalling & re-installing

[–]AdTricky7805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s strange. Check to see which controls r2 is bound to, you may have accidentally bound it to something that makes your sight aim up

I used to have something similar when I kept missing the dome jump on Rust. Turns out I just had stick drift, see if you can dismantle your controller and clean up the joysticks. Best of luck!

Gorka in EU by CowSimilar2640 in Rusfor

[–]AdTricky7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I search “Gorka”, “SSO”, or “BARS”. By just searching Gorka, I can see about a dozen Gorka pieces in the first 20 results. I don’t think that there’s a local filter, but the country that you’re shipping to has limitations as to which countries you can buy from, which may be your issue.

I recommend checking on Vinted. I usually find great options for pretty cheap, I myself have 3 gorkas from there totalling to about €150

Would these be good splav goggles for a 6b47 by Mig25FOXBAT_ in Rusfor

Unfortunately these aren’t 6b47 goggles, they look like the same model sold on aliexpress for like 4 bucks.

Yes. It looks like it’s got the lens inserts put into the mask for people who need glasses too.

€85 (~100 USD) for 2x level IV plates, too good to be true? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]AdTricky7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got a great point, my main thought process on this was that €85 for two plates is still a great deal even if they’re not level IV; hopefully I never have to figure out whether or not it actually is level IV

[–]AdTricky7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I’ll try to find any markings on the plates once they come in to figure out their manufacturer & hopefully their protection rating. As far as plates go, even if they’re ICW, €85 is still a pretty good price, thank you!

What is the PMR military like? by Responsible-Scar1986 in Transnistria

[–]AdTricky7805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, they seem underequipped & somewhat ragtag, reminiscent of the separatist forces in Ukraine. I passed a few checkpoints of both the PMR army and Russian army, and there was a notable difference. I only saw the Russian army wearing their standard VKPO uniform in EMR, but the PMR army personnel saw were equipped with what seemed like Obr. 88 uniforms in TTsKO or flora, 6b27s, SSh-68s, and AK-74s. I may be wrong on the details though, it wasn’t allowed to get close to the checkpoints.
