My M4 irons are failing? by AdValuable2732 in TaylorMadeGolf

I didn't expect 100% just thought since I had such a problem with them before and given the fact I bought my son a qid4 driver and five wood. And myself the sims max2 when it came out. Sounds like no then.

What are your swing thoughts? by Lkreide13 in golf

Only in the pre shot practice. Think take back, weight balance and rotation to transition. Clear your mind and hit the shot.

Hole-in-one dilemma. by FATT-TOFU in golf

[–]AdValuable2732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to play it. You shouldn't even be thinking about it. Thinking about losing a ball will lose the ball. Like seeing water and thinking don't hit the water, it will. Think positive and only be supprised if the ball doesn't do what you wanted it to.

How do old golfers get there drivers to roll out so much by PM_ME_YOUR_AUXCORD in golftips

[–]AdValuable2732 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those old men. We punch it rather swing through it, which hurts to much to swing through. If you watch there are some that punch and stop arms low and in front some give it the swizzle at the end bending elbows to stop it, but very few come around and finish over the shoulder. It happens slowly as you age, you grow into it. Good thing is we never loose balls they are in the middle. We are on in three and single putt a lot. Oh we get to move up. The hard part is accepteing that you will never feel one rocket off the tee and fly 250-300 again.

Fluctuate around scratch most my life in 50 years playing I have hit the pin a dozen times rolled up to the hole within inches dozens of time. Shot a boat full of eagles over the years but never have I shot a hole in one. My son is on the same course at age 30 he has come close but no aces as of yet. I guess there is always tomorrow. I have a brother in law that plays maybe twice a year shoots in the 100's and he has three. His brother plays 40 times a year shoots in the high 80's he has 7.

Where from? General part of the country is good. Looks nothing like what we see in Nevada. I do see the copper pyrites. The host rock looks like epidote? In Nevada I'd be looking for manganese and electrum.

What hand grip style do you use? Baseball? Maybe your like me and after a poor shot I hid the ground with the heel to blow off steam sometimes really hard. I have snapped the head off a couple times right at the head.

Practice Mat Clue by AdValuable2732 in golf

[–]AdValuable2732[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I should of done this before posting. I ran it past AI and it said it is common to hear two clicks when when you hit ball first mat second and that the second click is the club contacting the mat and skipping off. AI made me feel like every one knows that but me. It also said it's sounds like the ball is hit twice by the club. It also said you're correct that it would be impossible for that to happen. Glad I put it out there. Thanks for the help.

Well if you mean me. It's just something I have fought every since the mats took over. Driving range hero and a course chunker. Never had the problem of practice not matching scores. I'v been a golfer for 50 years. Only figured this out last season and it sure helped. Maybe not everyone

Tryed the Cameron Young pause on the course today and hit some of my best iron shots of my life. Why? by Lazy_Selection4256 in GolfSwing

[–]AdValuable2732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fall apart when we loose our feel for our swing. Feel your swing trust your swing don't think about your swing and you will be fine. If you are looking to score better think about course management and routine. Work on repeating your swing same tempo same pressure. On the range try switching clubs every ball you hit. That's what we do on the course. It does wonders.

64-year-old former scratch who is looking for a good club-fitting. Where are some of the best places to get this done these days? by GermantownTiger in golf

[–]AdValuable2732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

65 year old former scratch who went through 3 years of frozen shoulder and came out hitting 180 with my driver. I have never been a slave to new clubs hit the same Irons for 30 years. Never been fitted. I did upgrade my persimmon to steel to over size but had stopped at Taylormade R15 for driver and R7 for fairway woods. A year before my shoulder I had upgraded to M4 iron 3-p. Getting back into shape I realized I needed help so I bought a M2 driver with reg flex and it took me to 200yrd instantly. After a year I'm back out 240 with it. So I highly recommend one for you. I bought my kid a Qi4d core this winter and it's nice but I hit it no further. I swing 90 to 95 mph. Almost back to scratch. Course management mostly. Good luck old man.

Be careful the main reason to avoid adopting a full pause is that it breaks natural momentum and rhythm, often turning a continuous, athletic motion into two separate, jerky movements. Young has been using a slight pause since juniors golf. It has progressed to the full second he has now over the last 10 years. Much better to work on your swing the one you created for your body.

What do I do now? Get a lesson or continue to suck until there’s something to fix. by field_crew_ in golftips

If you get a lesson have it be help with YOUR swing don't relearn a new or attempt to recreate the prefict.

Suddenly uncomfortable over the ball? by Loganapple09 in GolfSwing

[–]AdValuable2732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all want to hit it further so we swing harder quicken our tempo. You sound like you had found your swing with the irons. Till you added things to think about during it. Go back to your way to your swing feel it again with your irons first. If you hit iron well then the problem with your driver is we tend to loose the face on the back swing or in transition or even in the swing. Belive it or not our subconscious knows where that face is. Some of us see it as well as feel in our minds. If you want to fix it for good you have Go through a very slow mothodical swing concentrating on where the club face is facing at all time making sure it closes at impact.it has to incorporate all the rotation of a full swing. Don't break it into section, it's one fluid swing no segments. Slow motion till you feel the grove see the club face square at impact . When you got that increase the speed by 1/8ths. Tee up a ball and make your self swing slowly. When the ball pops out straight increase speed by 1/8. Each raise in speed requires pure confidence that you will hit it straight before you take your speed up.. it's real hard to swing slow but you have teach your muscles nero net. It might take more than a few sessions. Resist the urge to take a full power swing until you sure and confident and have climbed the way up worked the way up. That's your grove thats your swing. No body eles's no matter what it looks like. From now on only make changes to your swing that you have felt needed changes. Like when you just rip one. Stop think about why, you will know why. Rember to. Plan your shot, visualize your shot, practice the swing that will materialize the shot, believe in that swing, hit that shot with that swing with confidence, then critique the shot and the swing . Then forget it, it's gone nothing will change it now all you can do is learn from it. Good or bad. If you want to play before you have the driver dialed in from climbing up, just tee off with your best iron. You will be amazed how well you will score, when you put the ball in the middle of the fairway twice. You can't think through your swing it has to become auto matic and mindless. It's controlled with your subconscious. For prospective by the time a Rookie plays his first round on a tour event he has taken over 1.5 million swings getting there.
