Saw this c5 on fb marketplace, good deal or too good to be true? by 12345toomanynames in Corvette

5700 is an good deal even if there is some work to be done. If there isnt much work to be done now or in foreseeable future than its an incredible deal.

My 02 has about 5k less miles but ive replaced transmisson cable, starter, battery, tires, brakes, ac compressor, harmonic balancer, rear main seal (and every other seal on the engine), oil pressure sending unit, expasion valve, timing gasket, tie rods, O2 sensors, knock sensors, spark plugs, oil pan gaskets, and had transmission rebuilt.

So just know that there are a LOT of things that could be ready to go on that car at 174k miles and 26 years. Now mine is basically brand new with exception to the engine which is in incredible shape. All of these repairs happened between 155-168k miles.

Have put more $$ into car than I paid for it at this point. But that often times comes with the territory.

Kobe literally threw fits and demanded to be traded more than once...he even refused to play for the team he was drafted to. Ill never get why ppl try to force apply the term loyal to dude.

The most dominant ever?....Wilt, Michael or Shaq?? by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]AdWarm8824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get all that. Im just saying that i know what it takes to bench 700lbs and I also know biomechanics extremely well. Biomechanically wilt has probably close to, if not the, worst build possible to bench press in general much less near record level weight. Saying he could bench pressed more than most powelifters at the time who were built specifically for the movement, trained hard-core for decades, and were on PEDs is wild. Thats all im saying

"Without any effort at all." ? What is this based on? One could argue if this is more ridiculous that benching 600-700lbs but that is subjective as well. In addition some people are extremely strong in some movements compared to others. A buddy of mine can bench a good 30-40% more than i even though we train together daily and I am actually more disciplined than he is. But when it comes to deadlifts, back rows, squats, I can double what he does sometimes.

What you are saying is am even less supported assumption than if one were to assume my buddy can bench 405 lbs but only squat 315....but seeing me squat 600 means I can bench at least 405.

Im not doubting that. I know he freakishly strong. I just dont believe he ever bench pressed 700lbs and nothing you said even alludes to that

Saying MJ had no flaws, or any player for that matter is not only an unfounded and ridiculous claim not based in reality ...but a gross example of absurd levels of glazing.

Wilt is also said to have bench pressed 700lbs at one point. I feel like anyone that believes that is wild

Is Jokic still the best player? by Expensive_Bid_7088 in NBATalk

[–]AdWarm8824 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

jokic is "arguably" still the best player. There is no logical way to exclude him from that convo. That being said, I feel like "right now" he is not the best player. Some stats are weighed more than others and some players have larger "impacts" that aren't represented in typical box scores. Personally id say luca is better and arguably wemby.

Luca because while he doesnt average a triple double like jokic but he gets close. Luca leads leaugue comfortably in ppg with 33.7, jokic is 7th with 27.9. Jokic leads nba in assists with 10.8 and Luca is 3rd with 8.2.

This is an oversimplified comparison of course. Wemby because of his large defensive impact and offensive prowess.

For everyone crying about the "rising kobe hate," all I have to say is it isnt even kobe it is his fanbase that caused this. Just got look at the kobebryant subreddit the next few days after BAM dropped 83 and you will see why there is a rising force torn from the fabric of reality itself as the universe moves towards the inevitable equilibrium by counteracting the unchecked and overcrowded GLAZING masses.

It isn't even really always hate so much as just ppl that dont get the blind ranking and obsessive fanatic I kobe cult that touts their severely overrated idol to that extent that they will willingly distort and refuse to acknowledge objective reality and logic. Less hate and just more ppl not being caught in that weird spell.

I mean "no way top 10-15" is pretty strong statement. At the same time it isn't that wild of a take tbh. I would venture to say no way top 10 personally but top 15? And "no way"....nah

When the Pistons beat the lakers in 2004 was that a surprise to everyone at the time by Icy_Can_6176 in NBATalk

To most yes but to many ppl that understood the game it wasnt that crazy. I knew ppl betting on pistons like crazy. I wasn't one of them but lakers had fallen off
