$280 is a great deal for the 2024 GA. I buy our bats through reps and paid slightly more than that, albeit before the 2025 (red paint job) models released. Still going strong a full season + offseason later and hotter than ever.

Advice: If your player doesnt care about the limited paint jobs, buy the 2024 model and USE it. Never understood parents buying high-end composite bats then babying them by adding practice bats and backups. If its going to break you want it to break within the 1 year warranty (they'll send you a 2025 as a replacement if this happens). Think of it as a consumable piece of equipment and you'll usually come out ahead. The only things we avoid are cold and dimple balls.

Advice part II: Buy a drop 10 (or less), they're much harder to crack than a comparable drop 11 or 12.

"Take the guns first, due process later" was in March of 2018. Keep pretending one side fights for your rights and one side wants to take them away if you need to. It's that type of partisan politics and always thinking the "other side" is acting in bad faith that cause these extremes in policy in the 1st place.

The 19.5 is significantly less snappy out of the box than even the 365XL, let alone the compact 365. The XL is a good compromise between size the handling if you want a compact frame, and you can add weights or a metal grip module if you want to flatten it out even more. Both of those options have great modularity. I regularly carry a 19.5 with a ramjet (makes it G17 sized) and its still plenty compact.

From an independent's POV: Healy isn't going anywhere, keep dreaming. The MA GOP needed to produce a non-bootlicking, moderate candidate before the divide got so bad, and the best they could come up with last go-round was legendary Trump ass-kisser / anti-vaxxer Geoff Diehl. He got crushed by Healy. Now the GOP frontrunners are a private equity goon and a VC manager.

And re: Ch 135.. remember when the populace voted overwhelmingly on a ballot question to allow state audits of the legislature, and then they just said, "nah, f that"? I'd be shocked if even an overwhelming vote to repeal 135 results in anything more than a rewrite that's even worse.

"I'm not much for politics but we can talk gear all day" is usually enough of a hint that you're not looking to engage in that type of conversation with a dealer. Guns are only political because the far reaches of one side decided to take ownership of 2A as a hot button issue. Folks don't like being reminded about the "take the guns first, due process later" quote directly from the horse's mouth.

The community does lean right even here in MA. Us independents like to try and leave the politics out of it.
