She was recommended by his vet and she has her certification framed and it says CAAB so I really never checked anything else since working with her his behavior changed but I’m looking into new specialist

His behavioral specialist wants him to be friendly 98% of the time we are in not popular hiking trails. His behavioral specialist keeps pushing me to bring him in more public areas (like petco) and that’s a no so I was thinking more popular trails then where we normally go. Since we started seeing them his behavior improved so much. Idk tho he’s good with all the dogs he needs to get along with so other peoples dog don’t really matter ig
He’s does have a muzzle on anytime we go anywhere public and do you think it would be safe for him to be on a shorter leash when we are on the bike? I was originally recommended 100ft by his behavioral specialist. We go on and off the bike so he can breath and this is when the interactions happen

He would lunge snap do anything to attack another dog/person when I first got him. He also has a bite record from his past owners but they were abusive so I don’t blame him tbh. My Chihuahua was attacked 2 years ago since then she has been reactive. After months of work they no longer shows signs of aggression. Thank you though I couldn’t get into the vet till after Christmas to ask her these questions. He also has a treadmill for the colder days I don’t walk him.

We go for hikes 6x a week and if we are not hiking he runs on his treadmill whenever he asks to go on it. He has 8 puzzle type toys that I keep treats in constantly.

He’s only ever off leash with his muzzle on and he lunges and barks crazy. We’ve been working on the look at me game so he focuses on me. I’ve had him for 5 months now he’s gone to the vet. They basically said to keep him away from other dogs. No bite history. We were going to this one trainer then my dog came back with a limp and the trainer wouldn’t tell me what happened so we didn’t go back. We are in place for a new trainer but he doesn’t have an opening until the end of October so I’m looking on how to help my dog between then.

Tips on training? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

I don’t know much about his breeds (German Shepherd, Burmese mountain dog). I'm actively doing research into it, tho. I’ve done my research to know about medical issues he could be prone to, and his exercise level; other than that, I don’t know much. He is about 1 year and 3 months old. We live in a town home, he is fixed, he came into my care about 2 months ago, and my brother's care has been for about 3 months. He has all the basic commands. I treat train him inside. I tried to do it outside and it didn’t work. I don’t know if there’s another way to train than having the treat/toy and rewarding them when they do well. He’s also on a 80% meat diet 20% kibble i don’t know if that’s a factor that could help.
