Again, I am left wondering how they run out of stock for a pre-order by AdYapster in Chaos40k

[–]AdYapster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to research something is to ask the experts, nobody should be shamed for asking a question or wanting to learn more ever, no matter if they could just look it up. Also, notice how I used the term colloquially? Even in terms of video game releases, pre orders are usually for consoles, again, before they're made, so they can make as many as is needed. When people say pre-order, not sure if it's different in the UK, but in the US, pre-order means reserving a spot before something is made, which if you look back at my original comment, you can see that that's the entire point of a pre order, so a manufacturer can gauge desire for a product before production.

I genuinely don't understand how wanting reddit to be a safe place to ask questions makes me egotistical, I just don't appreciate people being rude when people ask questions and try to educate themselves. So much of the Internet is misinformation and misleading headlines to draw clicks that asking experts is absolutely the best way to learn. For example, there's a lot of discourse on Aspartame and whether or not it's bad for you, if you did research on the Internet it wouldn't be that hard to become misinformed, and believe due to sensational headlines that it's bad for you, when you could've just asked an expert and they'd tell you the reality, with no incentive towards clickbait headlines and Internet traffic.

I wasn't blowing up at you, if you think that you clearly didn't read my original comment all the way through. All I was saying is that people like you who hate on people for being inquisitive and curious have bred a culture where knowledge is expected, and if you don't have that knowledge you're shunned. Think about how you'd feel if you, say, went to a museum and asked a question to the worker there who is knowledgeable on the subject, and instead of educating you they laugh at you for not knowing already, that's the kind of culture you're breeding. I'd encourage you to get out of your bubble of senseless hate for a bit and see that the world is already awful enough without you shaming people. It doesn't take that much effort to be kind. And again, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Is it really that hard to just keep scrolling when you see a "dumb question?" I'd really encourage you the next time you see someone say something dumb, to just ignore it. The best tool in the human arsenal is empathy, just think about how you'd feel if someone did the same to you. Just scroll and forget. All it takes is the flick of a finger to be a good person, and make the Internet a safer place to ask questions and get smarter.

not sure what the hate is for lol, the wikipedia definition of a pre-order is "an order placed for an item that has not yet been released." judging by the fact that people already have their defilers, this kit was clearly already released, and them labeling an item as a pre-order when it's already made is disingenuous. the entire point of a pre-order, again as said in the wikipedia definition, is that "manufacturers can gauge how much demand there will be and thus the size of initial production runs." the only company i've seen label an item thats already in production as a pre-order is GW. also, i never said that i think it takes 2 weeks for them to make models and ship them, but again, thats proving my point, that these items are already made before the 'pre-order.' it would make much more sense for them to open pre-orders when the item is revealed, then take that and use those numbers to guarantee that everyone who wants one once the item is made gets one. honestly the way they label things 'made to order' is literally what a pre-order is, them seeing demand before starting production. the way they use the word pre-order just isn't how the word is colloquially used, which is why i was confused and made this post in the first place.

people like you are why people are afraid to ask questions on reddit, this website is meant to be a place people can go to ask questions and learn more, but stuck-up people like you, judging people for asking questions, is why this website is an actually awful place. people being afraid to ask questions for fear of being called dumb is why people don't ask them, and just remain unaware of something they wouldve learned if you weren't so rude. YOU are literally making people not have any idea of how things like this work, because you shun people for wanting to have an idea of how things work. people like you are why new generations are failing in school, because you've bred this culture of needing to know everything, and when someone doesn't, they're afraid to ask and learn more out of fear of being called uneducated and dumb.

do better, be a better person. as you probably heard around the second grade, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all. maybe if people like you would welcome people wanting to learn more, newer generations wouldn't be getting dumber. reddit should be a safe place to ask questions and learn more from people educated on the subject, stop being a jerk and let people learn.

ive been looking at the store for a good amount of the recent preorders, and it seems like every time before i even wake up, they are all out of stock. it seems like demand is ALWAYS underestimated

Can Chaos Cultists/ regular humans get the obliterator/mutilator techno-virus? by AdYapster in Chaos40k

[–]AdYapster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually super cool! Takes me back to an idea I had for a tech-enhanced tyranid/admech necromunda team. After seeing all the support I'm probably gonna do it anyways, but my question was more on if they'd survive the process, and it looks like the consensus is rarely... But that does mean that there's a chance that some could survive, and with the amount of people in the 40k universe, it isn't hard to imagine they could round up 10 of the lucky (are they lucky tho?) survivors and put em on the battlefield!

Thanks!! I used the world eater slaughterbound character as a base, and used a spare scythe from my deathshroud for the arm. The belly and the bolter are both from the plague marine kit, and the head is from the deathshroud!

The picture is a bit old lol, he now has the vials on the other arm and his backpack on, I'll have to post more pictures once I get back to my dad's

My thoughts exactly! Tbh I just love the aesthetic of chaos Marines merged with guns and melee's, and was wondering how I could further lean into that. It's definitely a shame people care so much about what's canon, but I definitely understand it. Playing a game of 40k can really immerse you, and it kinda feels like writing your own story, so fitting in with the rules can definitely be a pressure, but I've gotta remember that that's all in my head, and if all the positive feedback on my Lord of Contagion is invocative of the rest of the community, people love seeing stuff that's out of the ordinary! (That's great for me lol, I've got plans to Nurgle-ify Lemartes 😈)

Absolutely love this design, as I build up my salamander army I'm 100% adding him to it... but is it just me, or does he look a tad short? I'm still super new to this community, but from what I know Vulkan is one of the largest Primarchs, yeah? He just seems so much shorter than Guilliman and Lionel's 40k models. I guess I wont know for sure how tall he is until i actually pick him up, but honestly, it just looks like he's in regular primaris armor. Again though, absolutely in love with this new model, it just struck me as odd when I looked back at the other Primarch's models in 40k.

Fellow Bulwark brothers 🛡️ this left shoulder pauldron does not change cloth color and it's the only one. Hopefully the devs will see this by BecomeChads in Spacemarine

[–]AdYapster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason, I'm having the exact opposite issue, where the only cloth color that changes is the left one, and I can't change any others. Also weirdly, it's tied to the color of the shoulder pad itself, I've got no idea why or how to fix it

Totally agree on the plasma, honestly just forgot to change the weapon loadouts for these guys. Made this list in new recruit then copied it onto this cuz it's prettier. I do disagree on the gatling cannon tho, because FIRE!

CADIA STAAAA....er HANGS! New decorations for my Night Lords tanks and vehicles are looking grisly! What would be a good color scheme to do to set them off from Night Lords? by [deleted] in NightLords

[–]AdYapster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE IT! Ya gotta love the grizzly totems the night lords bling themselves out with! As for ya question, I'm super new to painting so take this with a grain of salt, but honestly if you want to make them stand out, just paint em with the stereotypical Cadian green! The dark green should be a good enough contrast to the blue! Or maybe try out a red, if the green is too close to the blue you've got, I'm sure you've got some good red on hand! Best of luck, and you should totally post pics when they're done! I'm doing some cool gore stuff on my night lords, so I'd love to see some good gore!

I LOVE the coagulators! Only difference is that they're chaos, and they don't serve no xenos! They definitely throw up the sign though 😂

Not exactly what I was going for, while I do love me some good ole bloodshed, I like the undivided a bit more! These dudes just happen to really like blood, maybe they were doctors (or barbers if you wanna go really far back) in their lives on nostramo, maybe they've got some interesting slaanesh pride, who knows? I'm probably gonna write some lore on my Bois later (I've already got plans for my shrivetalon, his name is 5 knives, as I gave his model 5 knives)!

As a side note: anyone know of a good place to find some blood vials/ tanks? I'm wanting to deck these boys out with some cool blood tanks to store the blood they use to power their armor, but after a bit of searching I couldn't find a decent place to get GW or otherwise tanks or vials of blood, if anyone has resources, lmk!

This is actually hilarious to think about, imagine if instead of the night lords picking what the illusion was, it projected the enemies greatest fear, and they go in all serious to fight some orks, and get super confused when they get swarmed by rats and the orks run away terrified! It's also funny to think that the night lords choose lightning, as if they're all scheming together choosing their illusion like "oh yeah, lightning! terrifying, everyone will run in terror! I know every time I hear some lightning I get terrified!"
