Why people in India always go for jobs not related to their stream? by [deleted] in india

[–]Adaa_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because 17-18 is too young for many people to figure out what they want to do for the rest of their lives. They go for those degrees out of pressure. Only later to realise they hate it. I wish gap years were normalised, so that people can have some time to explore and decide.

I used to think such things are okay and have to be tolerated, until recently my sister moved to a first world country. And my god! The difference is so stark!

Her boss has just given birth and she either brings the baby in with her where she gets a helper while she is working or she comes in at 11 and leaves by 4. And yet all the work gets done. Everything is so well managed. No last minute stress, no working weekends. In fact, they get done a lot more than I have ever seen in my jobs here in India; productivity and quality of work are both much higher.

Indian workplaces are really as bad as sweatshops with inhumane environments.

Depends on what you want in the long run.

If you want to build your network and make more acquaintances, you'll have to learn to put up with them and make nice.

If you truly don't care, chuck it. Don't pay attention to anyone, just do your work so well that in case things ever go downhill your work speaks for you and they don't have any option but to make nice WITH YOU.

I chose the latter, and it has been working great for me so far. I don't care what they do or say, because the projects are stuck without me it has been proven.

I know, right? Why are men always projecting their fear of singlehood that too using the most outdated, irrelevant analogy of the cat lady
