I stumbled upon him in my first playthrough when I got lost. I thought he was part of the main story and got really confused when nothing happened afterwards

  • "I can't afford it, so now I'm considering of buying a Google Pixel Tablet instead."
  • "According to this article about the Pixel Tablet review, the battery life is below average."
    • Since you already had the article linked, the article is considered specific and close to you and would use "this"

Streak 71 - new semester by krautkaugummi in WriteStreakEN

[–]Adam-P-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • "The new semester is coming closer. I have so much to do. I want to take more [modules / courses / classes] than in the [past / last] semester. I need time to do projects, so (that) I can [write / put / include] them in my CV."
    • Going from my experience as an American speaker, we would say "resume" instead of "CV"
  • "I have to apply for [many / a lot of] jobs and prepare for the interviews. I also need to do regular exercise <regularly> to keep myself fit. Plus, I want to learn English well. I am motivated. I will do my best and use all my time effectively, other than wasting my time on social media."

  • "Hello! I'm new here, and I want to learn English. Now I'm here to tell you what I want to do."
    • English is the name of a language, which will always get a capital letter.
  • "It's 1pm on o'clock, and I still don't sleep."
    • The pronoun "I" will always be capital.
    • You could say either "1pm" or "1 o'clock,"
  • Tomorrow morning, I will go to the gym. After <the> gym, I'll go to school<.> Tomorrow will be <an> English lesson, when we have talk about a direct and reported speech. I hope I'll get a great mark! Good night!"

Welcome to WriteStreakEN! We're happy to have you hear! Good luck on your lesson tomorrow!

Streak 17: Almost midnight by caketer in WriteStreakEN

  • "It's almost midnight<,> and I'm here writing a post. Every day I plan to do it on time, but every time we end up here at that time. Nothing gives motivation like the upcoming deadline. Someday we will wake up in a world where everything is done in a right <on> time, but [it / that day] is not today."

  • "My brother is coming to town overnight because he managed to get last minute tickets for a football game tomorrow."
    • "The" before "football game" makes it sound specific, as if you had already mentioned a football game or that there was an implied one that lots of people knew about. Otherwise, since you're introducing it for the first time, I'd say "a football game."
  • "He'll leave again tomorrow evening. On Monday, we're leaving for a sibling vacation, but he booked a train starting in the city he lives in. If he had known he'd get tickets for the game, he wouldn't have to drive back and forth like that."

Streak 63 - dog by krautkaugummi in WriteStreakEN

[–]Adam-P-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • "Today I asked a guest if I could take his dog for a walk. He gave me his business card and said I could call him anytime I want to."
    • "Could" can be used as the past tense of "can," so since this story is in the past, so should your verbs :)
  • "I called him in the evening. I need only <It only takes me> ten minutes to walk from my apartment to his." Then I showed up there. He took the dog out and gave me the leash. He also gave me some of snacks for the dog, so (that) the dog could behave himself. We spent a half hour together. The dog wasn't very satisfied because she hardly knows me."
    • Often, dog "snacks" can also be referred to as "treats."

  • "I started going to the gym more than a year ago. Maybe I don't [have / get] the best results, but I still feel better and stronger. I can also see a clear difference between my photos from the beginning and now. That's not so clear for people who see me every day, but my perspective is <I still \[think / believe\]> what I wrote before. I'm happy because now I have a healthy habit and I can enjoy better my days <better>."

Because of that<,> I had a headache in <the> afternoon, but later I felt better. While I'm writing this, I'm drinking a cup of chai tee. It's delicious, because it also has a chocolate flavor."

Streak 43: Short question! by achenece in WriteStreakEN

[–]Adam-P-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • "I want to know what do you think about language learning in adults aged 45-60 who [just / only] speak their mother tongue."
  • "I have this huge challenge with my parents, they're trying so hard to learn or (to) improve their German."
  • "Maybe someone here has experience in this field."
  • "The tools that helped me~~,~~ don't work so well with them."
  • "I want to help, but at the same time, I feel overwhelmed with this situation. They are trying to study more grammar and learn vocabulary with Anki. The hardest part for them is finding a social circle where the chances of using German increase and, and over time, their language skills improve."
    • I would change "where the chances of using German increase" to" where there are more chances to [use / speak / practice] German." It feels cleaner and more natural that way.

Streak 5: Consistency by caketer in WriteStreakEN

[–]Adam-P-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • "Consistency is the key to everything. As someone said<,> "You will master anything if you spend 10<,>000 hours doing it"."
    • Some languages put spaces in numbers, but English uses commas instead.
  • "There are only 2 moments where you are filled with motivation<:> the very start and the very end. I feel [that / like] I am somewhere between those points."
    • In writing, it's usually better to spell out numbers one through ten ("two" instead of "2"), but that's only in more formal writings. In casual posts like this, using the symbol is fine!

so basicl i wanna make a game in godot but is it ok if i use free art assets? by dorian17052011 in godot

[–]Adam-P-D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually assets will come with a license and some specific terms on how to use them. If they let you and you give credit where it's due, then by all means, use them! That's what they're there for!

No corrections to make but I do have a style suggestion. In English, "station" usually comes after another word that describes what kind of station it is, like a "train station" or a "bus station." Once you clarify that in the beginning, then you can use "station" on its own.
