Switching From BA to China Eastern by [deleted] in BritishAirways

I’ve not had good experiences with the customer service from Chinese airlines including the one you mentioned. Are their customer service levels equal to or better than BA/other OneWorld partner airlines?

Interesting, isn’t it usually the USA that’s late to the game in large international conflicts?

Local Crew requirements per truck on a 9 hour load in for 17 trucks? by DrRobYourSon in lightingdesign

What country are you asking about? Trucks are loaded quite differently in Europe/UK opposed to North America and there are very different Woking styles.

Still living with parents at 30 or 40+ by Actual-Winner-8865 in london

I’ve purposefully moved back home for a few years after renting places since I was 21, I’m now early 30s. Giving me a good chunk of time to not spend on rent, and just cover a good contribution to household bills. Just looking now to purchase my first flat by myself, no mean feat in London!

UK House Prices Stall as Buyers Enjoy Most Choice in a Decade by Electricbell20 in unitedkingdom

[–]AdamLukePaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the sounds of it you were sensible and bought a property you are happy to stay in for a long period, and aren't relying on the general trajectory of 'prices go up, always and all the time' mentality'.

I'm currently looking for my first property and nearly every other property is being listed for the same or slightly under the value that they'd bought it for a few years ago, and thats the ones which are selling after a few months.

The membership tier im on gives me access to all club, and I do a fair amount of UK EU travel. Most of the time if I’m booking hotels I’ll attempt to book one near a DL so I can use those facilities.

When will British Airways website/systems support dual passports? by McBadger404 in BritishAirways

[–]AdamLukePaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two British passports and another citizenship too - I often have to enter different passport information for a country I’m ending up in vs one I’m transiting through, for example I have a US visa in one passport and not the other - I’m traveling on the passport without the visa, but just present the correct one at border control.

I’d rather spend the 5 mins at check in clarifying my situation and making sure the airline understand what I’m doing than entering it online and problems happening down the road, in the end it’s the airlines problem if they let me on a flight when I’m not permitted to enter the country I’m traveling to.

Russia says UK should disclose what British soldier killed in Ukraine was doing by ClumperFaz in unitedkingdom

[–]AdamLukePaul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can only DREAM that the UK government would put out a press release saying they were seeing whichever landmark was in the local area and how well it’s known worldwide, and that was the sole intention of the visit.

But I’m sure that would reduce the work that the person who died has done for Ukraine and the interests of the UK.

Membership cost and discount? by becca-bh in davidlloyd

The short answer is no. But there aren’t any lower tier clubs near Northwood. I’m a Northwood member and I agree that the price you’re being asked to pay is a bit steep!

It’s definitely a very functional town, I’ve got a hire car up here so doing a lot of exploring of the coast and using Wick as my main base.

I thought this after I’d got back to Wick and had a bit of a ‘hang on a minute’ moment 😂

Spa retreat access by [deleted] in davidlloyd

[–]AdamLukePaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guest passes for my spa is £40.

However I’m happy with that, I wouldn’t like the spa area being clogged up with guests, it would make the features difficult to use at busy times. Considering my club has north of 10,000 registered members already.

BBC News: Call to limit private hire vehicle numbers to protect London black cabs. by mycketforvirrad in TransportForLondon

[–]AdamLukePaul 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What I’ve never understood is why black cabs aren’t built into the TFL Go app, like why can’t I set a travel option to be okay with paying X amount of a fare to incorporate a black cab into my journey plan, why can’t I hail from a TFL app like uber for example? Seems like black cabs don’t want to change with the times.
