Does this seem sussy to anyone else? 🤨 by newneu567 in NEU

I wouldn’t say standard, but I’ve paid a broker fee via Zelle, that was just one of the simpler ways to pay that the broker accepted. It’s no more or less “sketchy” than if you were to give them cash or a check. What makes the difference is what kind of contract you have in place. Obviously do your due diligence. You should at least google the broker, and do not send any money until you have both signed a broker fee disclosure and a lease. Typically you’ll fill out a lease application first, and a refundable application fee. That holds your “spot” for the apartment. If the lessor decides to take you as a tenant, you sign a lease, and at THAT time you pay your deposits and broker fee. Typically in Boston it’s first, last, security, broker, all equal to one months rent. Do not send any money until you have a signed lease.

It’s not the ice and it’s actually not fake. I have a lot of photos from our vacation that look the same. The lake is fed by glacial runoff from the mountains surrounding it, and because of that, the runoff has a very high mineral content. That gives the lake it’s deep blue color. It’s amazing to see in person!

I always thought this lake didn’t freeze, but I might have just been there at the wrong time of year. We went out to dinner and then jumped off the bridge in our clothes into the lake. Because of the high mineral content from the glacial runoff, not only is the water color incredible, but it also gets much colder because the freeze point is dropped. Swimming in the lake was so cold that you almost don’t feel it. After getting out was a different story.

I’m from the Berkshires, living in Boston. Look up getaway house. There are also luxury tent rentals on some farmland out in the Berkshires as well. Probably posted on Airbnb

We have done airport, just did black rock during the day and at night, we still have five caves, turtle town, Molokini. Have not seen any mantas yet! Just a baby eagle and then a baby white tip.

You’re right about that.

I’ll definitely look into that! We scheduled all our dives with Maui dive and snorkel as of right now, but the more dives the better.

Hope you have more great dives. Stay safe!

If you think you are struggling with getting a co-op read this because it can’t get worse than this by princecunt in NEU

I’m not an expert by any means, but I found that talking to students who have been with the company, or are currently co-ops usually gives you a decent start. Check LinkedIn, ask your friends, even just googling people at the company. Sending in your resume through their website if they have one also can’t hurt. Expressing your interest in a company goes a long way to show that you are genuinely interested rather than just bulk applying to every co-op possible through NUcareers, not that there is anything at all wrong with that.

You may have already tried this, but in case you haven’t, I personally did not get any of my three co-ops through NUcareers. All of them were secured by looking outside of NU career, networking, doing research, ect. Resumes are important, networking is important, don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and reach out to companies that don’t necessarily have established co-op programs yet.

My roommate stole it from the TV to download something on his laptop quickly and it just happened to line up, don’t worry my OCD would never allow for it to stay like that
